Subject Learning 2. Skill Development System using Kits, Tools and Instrumentation. At the early age of 10-18 years the contextual system provide kits essential to understand and build knowledge. It corresponds to the school curriculum for standard 6-10. This enables the student to score well in the school exams while building a questioning and creative mindset. Data shows that 90% of school child

ren do not enter college. The Professional skill development system provides courses that build essential skills to enter a profession as entrepreneur or find a skill demanding job. This learning is at a laboratory that is equipped with instruments needed for experience essential to start an enterprise. Candidate enters a job as a ‘Productive on day of joining’ person. Objective is to equip the students to earn a living income. These systems have been developed in cooperation with Kitucate Enterprises, Pune. Narmada Bal Ghar offers use of the system manuals free of cost to all NGOs and corporate CSR projects.

General information

Bal-Ghar at Morvi, India Armed by early successes of this approach, we have embarked this year to continue to improve our science kits, and expand the reach of this program to all of Indian States and other developing economies. The focus of our enhanced program is science education, living skill development and the promotion of the holistic development of a child. The goal is to inspire curiosity, creativity and critical thinking in our children, while equipping them for living and competing in the modern world. We hope to create confident, compassionate and forward thinking citizens, who will positively impact their world. Program Details A student participating in this program will complete three tiers Tier 1: Exposure to principles taught in their science curriculum, accompanied by hands-on experiments and exposure to videos created by world standard organizations such as the Khan Academy. Tier 2: A more in-depth exploration of Tier 1 principles with emphasis on"how"and "why" of each building block principle as well as a choice of a vertical in which to the foundations for their future careers. Tier 3: A challenge to young minds as they explore engineering, physics, alternate energy, electronics, and architectural concepts by building gravity-defying bridges and towers, creating motorized contraptions and many more sophisticated projects. Students will have the opportunity to develop and create innovative products and applying principles they learn to real life. Acknowledgements As a scheme of learning science at school level KIT BASED SCIENCE EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS: KBSES has been possible due to collective efforts of many. Narmada Bal Ghar conceived, designed and funded the project. Organizational and funding Support from Ansuya Jyotindra Trust, Share and Care Foundation, Explora Box, Project Life, Kartavya Welfare Foundation and many others has enabled the production teams to move with precision and speed. The design implementation to cover one kit per topic and teacher's guides, student work books, cross indexed manuals etc. for each topic of school standards 6, 7 and 8 for all systems CBSE ,SSC, etc and many state languages : Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Gujarati, English are prepared by KITUCATE Enterprises Pune. G J Communications, Rajkot offers linkage systems for videos, an architectural from Rajkot offer Laboratory design and equipment for Tiers 2 and 3. KBSES also acknowledges work of thousands of scientists who discovered the fundamental principles of various verticals such as electronics, chemistry, solar energy etc. and those educationalists who documented for use by posterity. Work by original team at Project Life calls for a special mention. Work by volunteers and the paid staff in Mumbai, Pune and Morvi have contributed to group success. During the process of designing and developing this manual, the science books from grade 6 till 8 published by each States Councils of Education Research and Training have been used as references. We recognize and offer our gratitude. Central and State Governments have continually upgraded the system of education. These schemes have brought major improvements. As an NGO our goal is to supplement and support their efforts. Narmada Bal Ghar acknowledges the encouragement and support given by the Education Ministries and its Officers.
