Bright Sparks was set up in 2002 to give a free education to children who were not attending school, many of them 'working children'. The children live in a slum on the outskirts of Mohali where they live in poor condition

s. Often whole families share one room, with children as young as eight years old working to support their families. The school is a happy and energetic environment where children not only receive an education but also space and time away from the harsh environment of the slum. They learn subjects such as Hindi, Punjabi, Maths, Social Science, Computers and English. They get to spend time with their friends and enjoy access to lots of books and educational materials. The school has become a very important part of the children's lives and seeing them flourish makes this project very worth while and fulfilling for everyone involved.
