The Department of Research, Innovation, Startups and Entrepreneurship (RISE), CGC Landran, organized “AYUSH KISSAN” on 05 June 2026 , CGC Landran, Mohali, to commemorate World Environment Day 2026. The programme was conducted under the theme “ਹਰਬਲ ਉਗਾਈਏ, ਵਾਤਾਵਰਨ ਬਚਾਈਏ, ਆਤਮਨਿਰਭਰ ਭਾਰਤ ਬਣਾਈਏ” to promote herbal cultivation, environmental conservation, and self-reliant agricultural practices.
The event featured expert talks by Dr. Raminder Singh Ghuman, In-charge, Farm Advisory Centre, SAS Nagar, Dr. Avneet Kaur, Department of Horticulture, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, and Mr. Jaswinder Singh, Technical Advisor of Dragon Fruit Farming. Dr. Ghuman emphasized the importance of medicinal and aromatic plants in enhancing farmers’ income and supporting environmental sustainability. Dr. Avneet Kaur highlighted the significance of horticulture, ornamental flower cultivation, and floriculture entrepreneurship in sustainable agricultural development. Mr. Jaswinder Singh shared practical insights into dragon fruit cultivation, modern farming techniques, and the entrepreneurial opportunities associated with high-value horticultural crops.
The interactive sessions provided valuable knowledge on herbal farming, medicinal plants, ornamental flowers, dragon fruit cultivation, nursery management, and horticultural diversification. Organized under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Neha Sharma, Dean Research, RISE, and supported by Dr. Amresh Kumar, CEO, ACIC RISE Association, the programme successfully created awareness about sustainable farming practices, environmental conservation, and innovative agricultural opportunities, contributing to the vision of a greener environment and an Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Proud to share that Prof. (Dr.) Neha Sharma, Dean Research, and Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh Arora, Head-IPR, represented Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran at the 10th CII Regional MSME Summit 2026 held on 2nd June 2026 at the CII Northern Region Headquarters, Chandigarh.
The summit brought together policymakers, industry leaders, financial experts, and MSME stakeholders to explore the future of Indian enterprises through innovation, digital transformation, AI, automation, and emerging financing opportunities.
Key discussions focused on:

• Digital transformation and innovation-led growth

The Department of RISE successfully organized a Capacity Building Program on “Idea to Prototype: Empowering Students through Modern Fabrication Technologies” for the students of Govt. Senior Secondary School, Majatri.

The program aimed to inspire young minds by introducing them to the exciting journey of transforming innovative ideas into functional prototypes through modern fabrication technologies. ACIC RISE Association, CGC Landran, successfully hosted the Regional AIM SUMVAAD – North Edition, bringing together policymakers, incubator leaders, healthcare innovators, industry experts, and startup ecosystem enablers to strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurship landscape across Northern India.

The conclave witnessed the official launch of Regional Chapters and Local Chains, reinforcing the vision of decentralizing innovation and extending startup support to grassroots ecosystems. A high-impact panel discussion on “Scaling Impact through State-Led Startup Ecosystems” featured distinguished dignitaries including Ms. Deepika Rana Khatri (HAS), Govt. of Himachal Pradesh; Mr. Deepinder Dhillon, Startup Punjab; Mr. Prasad Menon, CEO, CIBA; and Mr. Prateek Deshmukh, NITI Aayog, among others, discussing collaborative strategies for sustainable entrepreneurial growth.

A major highlight of the event was the unveiling of the AIM NORTHERN CHAPTER (Punjab & J&K), environed and supported by PI-RAHI (S&T Cluster of IIT Ropar & Panjab University Chandigarh), aimed at strengthening regional innovation ecosystems.

The event also featured insightful deliberations on “Transforming Healthcare Innovation: Building MedTech Incubators in Hospitals” by Dr. Aashish Chaudhry, MD, Aakash Hospitals, Harvard Medical School Alumni & Guinness World Record Holder, emphasizing the need for hospitals to evolve into innovation hubs addressing real-world clinical challenges. Speaking at the event, S. Satnam Singh Sandhu, MP Rajya Sabha and Chairman CGC Landran emphasized the need for collaborative innovation platforms that leverage regional strengths. Additionally, Campus Director; Dr. Rajdeep Singh emphasised on augmenting innovation ecosystem in academic settings. In continuum, Dean R&D, Prof. (Dr.) Neha Sharma and CEO-ACIC RISE Association Dr. Amresh Panjla; highlighted the importance of student driven innovation ecosystem.

Further discussions focused on strengthening synergy between host institutions and incubators, promoting research commercialization, and exploring CSR-driven collective action for supporting startups in scaling sustainably.

The conclave stood as a remarkable step towards building a collaborative, inclusive, and future-ready startup ecosystem for the nation.
