🌿 From Interrupted Dreams to Self-Reliance – The Journey of Sarita Tudu

At just 13, while in Class 8, Sarita Tudu dreamed of joining the police force. She was confident, disciplined, and a sincere student. But in 2009, her life took an unexpected turn when she was married—forcing her to leave behind her education and her dream.

Years passed. Sarita became a mother, and her family depended on agriculture and tasar farming. Yet, she never let her circumstances define her limits.

Determined to rebuild her aspirations, she enrolled in tasar reeling and spinning training. Within just 50 days, her commitment and responsibility stood out. She began managing attendance, maintaining yarn and cocoon records, and overseeing daily activities—emerging as a natural leader.

Today, Sarita dreams bigger. She wants to become a trainer herself, empowering other women with spinning skills. She is also eager to learn the entire tasar value chain—from cultivation to market linkage.

Her journey is a powerful reminder: with the right opportunities and determination, it's never too late to rewrite your future.

Empowering Rural Futures through Collective Action 🌱

A NABARD-supported FPO, facilitated by Badlao Foundation, is bringing farmers together in Nildaha village, Jamtara block—building resilient livelihoods and sustainable futures.

Beyond agriculture, this initiative is driving change through organic farming, livestock development, and local entrepreneurship—helping farmers connect better with markets and opportunities.

Women at the forefront
From organic fertilizer production to pattal making and micro-enterprises, women are leading income generation while building confidence and leadership within their communities.

Collective strength, better outcomes
Through community engagement, field surveys, and FGDs, we are strengthening value chains, improving market access, and enhancing incomes.

In convergence with Common Ground Initiative, we continue to learn, expand, and deepen impact for smallholder farmers in the expansion area of Jamtara.

Together, we are not just growing crops—we are growing possibilities.

Grateful to our farmers, partners, and communities.

💧 World Water Day 2026 | Water for Peace & Prosperity

On this World Water Day, we celebrate a small but powerful symbol of community resilience—a check dam in one of our project villages, now brimming with water.

Built through collective community effort, this structure is more than just a water harvesting unit. It represents:
✅ Water security for households and agriculture
✅ Revived groundwater in a once water-scarce area
✅ Community ownership and collective action
✅ Dignity—especially for women who no longer walk miles for water

When water flows, livelihoods grow. When communities conserve, nature gives back.

This World Water Day, let's reaffirm our commitment to protecting every drop—because water is life, water is peace, water is our shared future.
