National Allied and Healthcare Professional Association (NAHPA) formerly known as the Indian Paramedical Association, is a nationally recognized professional organization dedicated to the representation, advocacy, and development of professionals engaged in the allied and healthcare sector across India. In line with the directives issued by the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Profess
ions (NCAHP) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, as per Circular No. Z/103/2024-AHS-DOHFW dated 1st July 2025, the term "Paramedical" is officially discontinued from all government-related usage. The commission has recommended the exclusive use of the term "Allied and Healthcare" to ensure standard terminology and compliance with the NCAHP Act, 2021.
