When we serve water bodies in mother nature, they serve generations of humanity. We at Purva Foundation are proud to announce the successful restoration of a historic well in Gorakhpur under our ' Initiative'.

Located at a prominent crossway in the heart of the city, this revived water source will significantly expand water security for the surrounding region. Beyond its functional value, this restored well stands as a powerful emblem. It serves to remind the local community to sustainably use water in their everyday lives and helps them reconnect with their rich cultural heritage.

We extend our sincere thanks to Sir, VC Gorakhpur Development Authority & his team for their invaluable guidance in translating this project into action. Together, we are building a more water-secure and culturally rooted future.

जनपद हापुड़, विकास खंड धौलाना के ग्राम सपनावत में तालाब के पुनर्जीवन कार्य की शुरुआत की गई।

वर्तमान में तालाब का पानी ओवरफ्लो होने के कारण गाँव की सड़कों पर जलभराव हो जाता है, जिससे ग्रामीणों के दैनिक जीवन और आवागमन में काफी परेशानी होती है। इस परियोजना का उद्देश्य तालाब को उसके प्राकृतिक स्वरूप में पुनर्स्थापित करना है।

तालाब की गाद (सिल्ट) हटाकर उसके पुनर्जीवन के माध्यम से उसकी जलधारण क्षमता तथा भूजल पुनर्भरण (Groundwater Recharge) क्षमता में उल्लेखनीय वृद्धि की जाएगी। यह कार्य भविष्य में जलभराव की समस्या को कम करने के साथ-साथ गाँव के लिए दीर्घकालिक और सतत जल स्रोत सुनिश्चित करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाएगा।

Jal Chaupal Celebrated During Ground Water Week 2026

On the occasion of Ground Water Week 2026 (16–22 July), Purva Foundation, in collaboration with Max Healthcare Institute Limited and the Ground Water Department, Ghaziabad, organized a Jal Chaupal to promote groundwater conservation and sustainable water management.This event served as a vital platform for cross-learning, bringing together representatives from the government, private sector, and civil society to engage directly with local villagers.

While the Ground Water Department and private sector partners shared their institutional efforts and technical strategies, village elders provided invaluable traditional insights on water usage and community management.The discussion highlighted the alarming rate of groundwater depletion and practical measures to recharge resources. Village participants actively shared their local conservation initiatives, creating a highly interactive atmosphere. Such collaborative dialogues between institutions and communities are an urgent need across all rural and urban settlements in India.

The programme was graced by Shri Vishwajeet Singh (Executive Engineer), Ms. Srishti Jaiswal (Nodal In-charge, Ground Water Department, Ghaziabad), Mr. Manvender Singh (General Manager – ESG, Max Healthcare Institute Limited), Shri Vijay Namdev (Gram Pradhan, Kaithwadi), and Mr. Vipin Kumar (Gram Pradhan, Moddinpur), who all emphasized that collective action is essential to safeguard water for future generations.

Water has always been at the heart of Bharat’s culture, yet modern life has distanced us from the very groundwater that sustains human survival. To revive this vital bond, Purva Foundation, in collaboration with Max Healthcare, is hosting 'Jal Chaupal' in Ghaziabad to commemorate the Government of Uttar Pradesh's Ground Water Week 2026.

This initiative brings together stakeholders from the government, private sector, and civil society to exchange best practices on water conservation directly with the villagers of Kaithwadi. As part of our continued commitment to water conservation, today we conducted a site visit with the Kanpur District Administration to assess several lakes that have dried up over time.
Our vision is not only to restore these water bodies but also to develop sustainable solutions that prevent them from drying up again in the future.
We believe that every drop of rain is precious. By implementing scientifically planned Rainwater Harvesting systems and sustainable water management strategies, we can capture every possible drop of rainfall, recharge groundwater, and revive our natural water bodies.

Our ancestors mastered local water management, and we still benefit from their wisdom today.
To sustain this heritage, Purva Foundation is proud to announce our well restoration project under the 'Amrit Koop Initiative' in Varanasi.

This project goes beyond infrastructure. We are reviving the well to its original form while bringing back traditional knowledge of local water management. This initiative celebrates water, culture, and ancestral respect for Mother Nature.

Water scarcity and flash floods are two sides of the same coin, driven by erratic rainfall.

The sustainable path forward requires a shared commitment. We must bring together the private sector, social impact institutions, and local communities to restore and maintain our critical water bodies.

In this spirit, Purva Foundation, Max Healthcare, Ghaziabad District Administration and the Gram Panchayat of Firozpur Kaithwadi collaborated to rejuvenate the local pond at Firozpur village in Ghaziabad. This collective action successfully resolved the immediate threat of flash floods while simultaneously ensuring long-term water security for the entire region.

We are incredibly thankful to Max Healthcare for their vision in Water Stewardship. The thoughts of Singh on water security stands as a continent inspiration for us. We are also sincerely grateful for the opportunity to converge, collaborate, and contribute to this vital sustainability landscape.

Water saved today ensures a better life for generations ahead.

With the monsoon season fast approaching, this is the crucial time when we all must work together to restore and create spaces that capture and conserve vital rainwater. Aligned with this long-term commitment, the Purva Foundation is proud to announce the restoration of the pond in Muradnagar Block, Ghaziabad.

Post the restoration, the pond will fully recover its originality and natural capacity. This vital transformation will lead to the active conservation of rainwater from the next monsoon onwards, while simultaneously enabling a sustainable habitat for the biodiversity around it.
