Today, a Nature Walk was organised on World Biodiversity Day under the leadership of IFS Vandna Phogat, DFO Meerut by Club jointly with Forest Dept. Meerut at Sanjay Van, Delhi Road, Meerut. The walk witnessed enthusiastic participation from club teammates, forest officials and nature lovers from the city.
During the Nature Walk, participants explored different species of plants, birds and wildlife found inside Sanjay Van while discussing the importance of biodiversity conservation. Addressing the participants, DFO Vandana Phogat highlighted how rapid deforestation, rising temperatures and global warming are negatively affecting biodiversity across the world. She emphasized that many species of trees, birds and animals around us are disappearing due to human activities and collective action is now more important than ever.
Club team also carried out a cleanliness drive during the walk by removing plastic waste from the forest area. A quiz session based on biodiversity and environment conservation was also organized at the conclusion of event.
Aligned with the 2026 World Biodiversity Day theme, “Acting Locally for Global Impact,” let us all take small yet meaningful steps in our daily lives to protect biodiversity, reduce pollution, plant native treesand preserve nature for future generations.
