There’s a moment in every scholarship student’s life that we wish we could bottle up and sell. It’s not the moment they receive the cheque. It’s the moment they call their father and say, “Papa, I don’t have to drop out.”
For Suhitha, that call happened on a humid Tuesday evening in Siripuram. Her father had just returned from the chilli powder factory – hands stained red, body exhausted. He had been lying awake for weeks, doing the math: ₹1,95,000 for her BTech. His daily wage. The empty space where her mother used to be. It didn’t add up.
Then the scholarship from Dhanalakshmi Iron Industries came through. And then something incredible happened – our community raised ₹2,04,000. Enough for her tuition. Enough for her lab fees. Enough for the bus pass that takes her from Siripuram to Vignan's Lara every morning.
Today, Suhitha is in her 3rd year with an 8.69 GPA. She wants to be a software engineer. She wants to buy her father a house where his hands don’t have to bleed for money.
This is what your support does. It doesn’t just pay a bill. It pays forward a whole future.
We’ll be sharing more stories like Suhitha’s this month. Follow along. And if you’ve ever wondered whether a small donation matters – just look at her face. Sirisha Kadiyala Venkateswari Vuyyuri
