If a person is fortunate enough to vanquish all misgivings caused by material existence and rise up to the stage of niṣṭhā, he can then rise to the stages of ruci (taste) and āsakti (attachment for the Lord). Āsakti is the beginning of love of Godhead.

According to his calculation, practically every one of us is fallen, but because we are trying to serve the Supreme Lord with all seriousness and without duplicity, we can expect the mercy of Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu

Kaunteya pratijānīhi na me bhaktaḥ praṇaśyati (BG 9.31). This is Kṛṣṇa's mercy, special mercy. So always be calm and chant and pray to Kṛṣṇa. Don't spoil this life. It is so valuable.

HH Bhakti Visrambha Madhava Maharaja(ACBSP), left this world in the evening in the Gaushala of ISKCON Vrindavan. He had been suffering for quite some time from a rare type of Parkinson's and this evening had heart failure. He was celibate his whole life and was very devoted to Tulasi Maharani, even writing books of her glories. Maharaja was a very strong Prabhupada man and his memory for slokas was phenomenal. He has been serving Srila Prabhupada's mission since 1972! I'm very sad to miss his association, but also glad that now he is freed from his miserable body.

Krsna Conscious Community

Hari Sauri Dasa: Accepting Tamal Krishna Maharaja's invitation, Prabhupada decided to spend a day at the Pennsylvania farm, a five-hour drive away.

After we drove around the land the next stop was the huge cow barn and dairy, where Prabhupada saw a calf born just that morning. He petted some of the younger calves and then inspected the huge cows. The herd is Brown Swiss and they have gigantic milk bags. One cow gives one hundred and four pounds of milk per day -- that's the equivalent of its own body weight every eleven days! Paramananda informed us that two of the cows have the finest pedigrees in America. Their ancestry traces back two hundred and fifty years, to the time when their breed first came to America.
The cows were not the only occupants of the barn, however. A dog peacefully sat between the stalls; and as Prabhupada looked on, a small kitten ran among the cows, catching milk dropping from their udders. He smiled and said that this was the result of living in a Krsna conscious community: even the animals are great friends.

Pleasing Prabhupada

Svavasa Dasa:   Throughout the morning walk all I could think about was how to maneuver myself to the front to say something because I felt I'd never get the opportunity again. On this walk, a devotee was asking Prabhupada intimate questions about Radha and Krishna's pastimes. Prabhupada briefly answered his questions and then continued chanting japa. This devotee would persist in asking more questions. Prabhupada didn't exhibit anger about the questions, but it wasn't an enlivening and powerful discussion. Srila Prabhupada was not absorbed in it. That morning the walk wasn't very long. When we turned around to return I became nervous because I had little time left to say something to Srila Prabhupada and I tried to develop enough courage to do it. Finally I thought, "I've got to do this. I cannot hesitate." I zig zagged through the crowd of sannyasis. Doing that excited me, but I was fearful of offending Prabhupada and fearful of saying something insignificant. I yelled out, "Srila Prabhupada!" It was so startling that Prabhupada and all the devotees stopped in the middle of the street. They thought it was some crazy guy. Everyone looked at me. Out of complete anxiety I started saying, "Srila Prabhupada, we want to please you. We're distributing books at O'Hare Airport" and I told him the statistics of how many books we distributed and how we were doing it. I said everything I could say and repeatedly said, "We just want to please you, Srila Prabhupada". Srila Prabhupada looked at me throughout the whole thing, which took a matter of seconds, but it meant minutes to me, my throat became choked up and my mouth became dry. At one point all I could hear was my heart beating fast. And then I was finished. I stood there before Srila Prabhupada. Prabhupada could see I was excited and he was merciful, kind, peaceful and calming. He said, "Thank you." Then what shocked me was that Prabhupada, with his calm demeanor, wonderfully encouraged me by turning to all the devotees and saying,

When there is a congregation of devotees, their discussions, questions and answers become conclusive to both the speaker and the audience. Thus such a meeting is beneficial for everyone's real happiness.
