Goa’s young table tennis player, Chandan Sinai Caro, brought glory to the state by clinching the Gold Medal in the U13 Boys event at the UTT National Ranking Table Tennis Championships, held at the Jimmy George Indoor Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.

In the final, Chandan showcased remarkable composure and skill, defeating Tamil Nadu’s J.N. Sanjey Arwindh in a thrilling 4-game match (11-6, 8-11, 11-8, 11-9). His journey to the title included a hard-fought semifinal victory against Rishan Chattopadhyay of West Bengal, where he demonstrated resilience and grit, winning 16-14 in the decisive fifth game.

“Chandan’s achievement is a proud moment for Goa and highlights the state’s emerging talent in the national table tennis arena,” stated Sudin Verenkar, President of Goa Table Tennis Association. Margao-based Chandan trains under Coach Raja Dayal at the South Goa Table Tennis Academy in Fatorda.

“We are deeply grateful to the Sports Minister of Goa, Govind Gaude and the Sports Authority of Goa for their unwavering support in providing us with the infrastructure to develop the South Goa Table Tennis Academy in Fatorda. Their commitment has been instrumental in raising the bar for the sport in Goa and nurturing young talents like Chandan,” added Verenkar.

An exciting upgrade for the Goa Para Table Tennis Team!!!

With his kind donation of two 'NeoFly' wheelchairs, Mr. Vikram Verlekar (head of the South Goa Table Tennis Council and Managing Director of Ulhas Jewellers Pvt. Ltd) has provided a huge boost to Goa's para-table tennis infrastructure.

Goa Table Tennis Association (GTTA) in collaboration with South Goa Table Tennis Council (SGTTC) and Sport Authority of Goa (SAG) Have roped in The Pinnacle Table Tennis Academy, the most prominent TT tranning centre of India for professional traning and high performance zones.
The sole aim of setting up this academy is for Goan Player to get professional training and to produce more Goan champs at national, international level and promoting TT..
The GTTA has taken premises on rent at Fatorda stadium from SAG to set up the academy wherein 8
tables will be put up for conducting the coaching from 3rd April 2022.
