Goa Pradesh Sane Guruji Kathamala (GPSGK), is a socio-cultural and educational organisation. It started its activity in August 1962 and is affiliated to Akhil Bharatiya Sane Guruji Kathamala – Mumbai, established on 24th December 1951 as a live memorial of Late Pandurang Sadashiv Sane popularly known as Sane Guruji. Sane Guruji was a multi-talented and multi-faceted person. He was an ideal teacher
, social worker, veteran freedom fighter, author, poet, translator, good organiser and orator. He was a firm believer that the children could be shaped as ideal citizens imbibing moral values through the most popular, effective and traditional medium of storytelling at a tender age. GPSGK conducts various activities across Goa to achieve the dreams of Sane Guruji. These activities aim to encourage participants to read and narrate good stories. Main activities include:
STORYTELLING PROGRAMS BY STUDENTS
1) Organizing Story Telling Programs for School students in different eighteen centers spread across 12 Talukas of Goa. Primary (First to Fourth standard),
b. Upper Primary (Fifth to the seventh standard),
c. Secondary (Eight to Tenth standard)
2) Story Telling Programs for Higher Secondary Students are conducted with preliminary at district levels and final at State Level. STORY TELLING PROGRAMS BY PARENTS & TEACHERS

Storytelling programs are organized in various schools for 2-5 hours emphasizing the stories of Great Revolutionaries, scientists, social workers, social leaders, martyrs from wars, and the freedom movement,etc. Various prayers, songs and slogans are also included. ELOCUTION COMPETITION
This competition is conducted in the memory of the founder of Kathamala, Late Shri. Prakashbhai Mohadikar for the students of Colleges and Goa University. The topics for the elocution are based on scientific temper, eradication of superstitions, democratic values, human values, environmental awareness, social issues,etc.. STORYTELLING WORKSHOPS
GPSGK conducts periodic storytelling workshops for students, teachers, and parents in which the participants are trained in the art of narrating stories. Various songs based on patriotism, national integration, social and environmental awareness, etc are also included in this programs. PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT CAMPS
Regular camps are conducted for the holistic development of students. The camps impart values through various storytelling methods such as narration, dialogue, delivery, public speaking, story writing. The students are also taught songs based on patriotism, environment, humanity, national integration, etc. BAL ANAND MELAVA
Bal Anand Melava is a cultural festival for students conducted in collaboration with several educational institutions based in Goa. Activities such Art, Craft, handcraft, Theatre, Singing, Clay Sculpting, traditional games are conducted during the full-day event. OTHER ACTIVITIES
Additionally, activities such as lecture series, story readings, conferences, training of judges for fairselection of Story Tellers at Centre or District levels and State Level, etc. GPSGK has been always supported by the members, volunteers and various business groups as and when we approach for financial support. We could have our own office premises at Sapana Gardens, Porvorim- Goa in 1996 and now at Raj Durga Heritage, Daag-Ponda, Goa through the blessings of Shri Krishna Nanu Naik and his family for which we are indebted to our most beloved Shri Krishnabhau. GPSGK is registered under Societies Registration Act 1860 and recognized under section 12A of Income Tax Act 1961.
