💧 Water is essential for life, yet women and girls often face barriers in accessing and managing it.
Around the world, women play a central role in collecting water for households and communities, yet remain underrepresented in water management and leadership.
Through its Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme and World Water Assessment Programme, UNESCO connects science, knowledge and cooperation to help countries advance gender equality in water governance.
This , UNESCO calls on all stakeholders to ensure women’s equal participation, because inclusive water solutions benefit everyone.
