Aatmbodh Sansthan is an NGO in India headquartered in Gonda Uttar Pradesh. Our organization strives to illuminate helplessness, poverty, Illiteracy, Ignorance of person with disabilities in Uttar Pradesh. We aim to improve the life standard of person with disability with the help of Education, Information and Helping equipments.
Aatmbodh Sansthan is an initiative of Mr. Deepak Tripathi, Deepak is fourth child out of 5 children of Mr. Raghunath Prasad Tripathi , met with POLIO at the age of 2, he brought-up with polio walking on his both hands completed his Post Graduation and due to Disability Reservation he Get Selected as Shiksha Mitra in Grampanchayat Prathmic Vidyalay Dhanepur, he started working with whole his capacity and devotion, Everything was happening as per expectation till the year 2011. In the Census 2011 he got a task of counting people in 3 Grampanchayats, he started visiting in different villages in his tri Cycle. It took 15 Days in the whole survey and with so many other people he found 36 people with Different kind of disabilities, as he was a surveyor he was inquiring about the needed information’s to fill-up the census’s form… He found person with disabilities are living such a life which is much bellow to all the known lines drawn by any system. There were more than 4-5 people with no name till the age of 15 to 21 years; people use to call them with the kind of disabilities they were suffering from, moreover no one is there to bother about this.
There helplessness, poverty, Illiteracy, Ignorance shaken to the inside of Mr. Deepak’s soul.
From 2011 Mr. Deepak started working for person with disabilities slowly but continuously, this initiative grown up in this way only till next 2 years in the year 2013 when Mr. Deepak’s job become a hurdle in this social work he resigned from his job and started giving his whole time for disabled people. In the year 2017 when number of Beneficiaries grown up to 2600 it was difficult to manage for an Individual so In November 2017 Mr. Deepak united his 9 other disabled friends of Chhapiya Development block and Founded Aatmbodh Sansthan on 17 November 2017, Keeping person with disability in the center.
Mr. Deepak is very much aware of all the disability related problems and the solution as well, so on the foundation ceremony of Aatmbodh Sansthan 17 November 2017 the very first Campaign of Aatmbodh Sansthan was launched officially
“Digital Pehchan Abhiyan”
In our Initial Camps and survey we found number of Disabled people suffering from different problems due to lack of Education and Information and another main problem was unavailability of any Uniform digital identifiable record so we started working on them and to come over to these problems we launched our first Campaign named “Digital Pehchan Abhiyan”
This Campaign was started for Rural Areas of Uttar Pradesh, where the volunteers of Aatmbodh Sansthan visit different villages collect the documents of Person with disabilities, Organize Camps at Respective district Hospitals so that the digital disability certificate get issued, This Campaign in running continuously since last 3 years and till August 2019 we have covered 2300 Villages of 5 Districts of Uttar Pradesh 11000 Beneficiaries who get their digital disability certificate. Once the digital disability certificate gets issued, we get them enrolled for UDID card, which is a pan India card issued by Ministry of Empowerment of Person with disability.
“Divyang Sugam Abhiyan”
Divyang Sugam Abhiyan is the second campaign launched by Aatmbodh Sansthan for person with disabilities who are comparatively less Disabled and capable of working for their livelihood, in this campaign we provide Helping Equipments, Digital Railway Travel Card to increase productivity and convenience of person with disabilities. Till August 2019 we have helped 1790 people through “Divyang Sugam Abhiyan”
“Aatmbodh Sansthan-Saksham Abhiyan”
This campaign was launched only for those who are 80% or more than 80% Disabled and cannot move without any human help. In this campaign we try to increase their mobility so that they can do some effort for their livelihood. This campaign Offers Battery Operated Tri Cycles, Automatic Wheel Chairs, Wheel Chairs to the person with disabilities who are educated and keen to work for themselves. We have launched this campaign on the occasion of 2nd foundation date of Aatmbodh Sansthan 17th November 2018 and offered 54 people to walk up to 25 kilometer of their surroundings to do some efforts for Liveliness.
Currently 167 Disabled volunteers and 57 Normal Volunteers are working with Aatmbodh Sansthan for their vision and mission in Different Development Blocks of Uttar Pradesh and everyday more than 25 person with disabilities get increased in the list.
Mr. Deepak Tripathi and his Team is trying to develop some productivity in person with different kind of disabilities so they can also make their little contribution towards development of the society.
