A Kabaddi Tournament was successfully organized on 25th April 2026 by Shree Mahalingeshwara Vidyanikethana School in collaboration with its alumni (old students). The main objective of the event was to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and to strengthen the bond between the school and its former students.
The tournament witnessed active participation from students of 18 different schools, making the event highly competitive and vibrant. Along with them, alumni teams also took part enthusiastically, adding spirit and experience to the tournament.
The students of Shree Mahalingeshwara Vidyanikethana secured the First Runner-Up position in the Kabaddi tournament.”

*Plastic Free India Awareness Campaign:successful program in Manjeshwar and Thalapady*

With the aim of protecting the environment and reducing the use of plastic, the 'Plastic Free India' awareness campaign was successfully organized in Manjeshwar and Talapady areas on April 7. The program, which was organized in collaboration with CAPS Foundation, Bangalore and Sri Mahalingeshwara Vidyaniketana Kunjathur was symbolically inaugurated by the founder president of CAPS Foundation, Sri Chandrashekhar Shetty, and officially launched it by distributing plastic bags. At the inauguration ceremony, he said that environmental protection is the need of the day and reducing the use of plastic is everyone's responsibility. The awareness rally to build a plastic free society should ban plastic and preserve a healthy environment for the next generation

The school successfully conducted Science Day on 28th February at the Shree Mahalingeshwara Vidyaniketana Kunjathur. The program was graced by the presence of the chief guest, CF,CA Chandrashekar Shetty, Founder President of CAPS Foundation, Bangalore.
During his address, the chief guest shared valuable thoughts on the importance of science experiments and innovation in education, inspiring students to develop a scientific attitude and creative thinking. On this occasion, the students of the 8th standard presented an impressive cultural program, which added great value and enthusiasm to the event.

The Jyothi Pradhan programme, which is the farewell ceremony for grade X students, was conducted in our school on 5th February 2026. The programme was thoughtfully organised by the students of Grade IX to bid a respectful and affectionate farewell to their seniors of Grade X.
The programme began with an invocation, followed by a warm welcome to the guests, teachers, and students. The significance of Jyothi Pradhan, symbolising the passing of the torch of knowledge and responsibility, was explained by the students. Various cultural programmes such as speeches, songs, dances, and skits were presented, making the occasion joyful and emotional.

Congratulations to Our Champions! 🏆
We are proud to announce that on 25th January 2026, the students of Shri Mahalingeshwara Vidyaniketan, Kunjathur achieved remarkable success at the BVN District Athletic Meet held at Kanhangad.
Our students emerged as winners in Shishu Vibhag, Bala Vibhag, and Kishore Vibhag, and the school was proudly declared the Overall Champion of the sports meet. This outstanding achievement reflects the dedication, discipline, and strong team spirit of our young athletes.
