To protect our First Biodiversity Heritage Site Tungkyoung Dho, they organized a cleanliness drive aimed at keeping the area clean and safe from the impacts of human greed.

Ren Chewang Lepcha from Sangdong, Hee-Gyathang GPU, Dzongu, Mangan District, was honoured by the State Biodiversity Board, Forest & Environment Department, Govt. of Sikkim, on the occasion of International Day for Biological Diversity 2025.
He was recognized for his outstanding contributions to conserving biological diversity and preserving traditional knowledge.
The BMC and Dzongumoo community expressed their appreciation for his dedication to safeguarding indigenous knowledge and practices.
