People say we go to temples, church, mosque, gurudwara to worship God but they forget that the other way to worship God is by service to mankind, which is God’s creation. NSS NITK club works on this principle with our motto teach today for a better tomorrow. NSS NITK aims at building a healthy society – a society where everyone considers himself to be a responsible member of the community in which
he lives and works. Where he is inspired to play his part in ensuring the well being of that community, and in particular where he shows a practical concern for those members who for reasons of age, handicap or other disability-cannot fend for themselves without help. THE SITUATION OF UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN IN INDIA
•40% of India's population is below the age of 18 years which at 400 million is the world's largest
child population.
•Less than half of India's children between age group 6-14 go to school.
•One in every ten children is disabled in India.
•70 in every 1000 children born in India do not see their first birthday.
•3% of India's children are mentally/physically challenged. As engineers, we must play a role in changing this scenario. There are some children who have enough potential to shine bright but require a little help here and there to push them up the luminosity scale. We help these children to walk their little steps towards their dreams.
