NG WORLD successfully hosts Free Medical and Dental Camp at Chokkabettu- Surathkal, Mangalore

Date: December 29th-12- 2024
Location: Chokkabettu- Surathkal, Mangalore.

On December 29th, a medical and dental camp was organized in collaboration with Speedy Multi Modes, Prajna Counseling Center, Social Democratic Party (SDPI) 5th Ward, Chokkabettu, CSI Church School Chokkabettu, and A J Medical Hospital, Kuntikana, Mangalore provided medical support for the event.

The camp commenced with a formal stage program at 9:30 AM, with representatives from each organization present on the dais. The guests included Mr. Noushad (President of SDPI Chokkabettu), Mrs. Samshad Abubakkar (Corporator of Chokkabettu), Mr. Salman, Dr. Siddarth (Medical Officer at AJ Hospital), Mr. Ali (Camp Coordinator at AJ Hospital), and Mrs. Lilly Marry CT (Multi-purpose Worker at Prajna Vocational Skill Training Centre, Mangalore). Mr. Saleem served as the MC for the program.

Mrs. Samshad Abubakkar addressed the crowd, emphasizing the importance of maintaining good health. She encouraged everyone to focus on nutrition and regular health check-ups, urging them to make use of the camp’s services. Other representatives spoke about the significance of medical camps in rural areas.

The camp saw many attendees seeking services like blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing, and ECGs. A total of 54 people benefited from the ECG services. The dental department offered treatment for various dental issues, with 60 people receiving care, 20 of whom had cavities treated. Additionally, 100 people had their eyesight examined, and 46 received free spectacles from NG World Trust. Ten individuals were referred for cataract surgeries.

Common ailments such as cold, cough, fever, skin problems, hair fall, back pain, and leg pain were also treated, with free medicines provided to patients. A total of 147 individuals (55 males, 55 females, and 37 children) benefited from the camp. The AJ Hospital team included 10 doctors and 4 nurses, while the dental camp was assisted by 11 doctors and 5 support staff members. A medical social worker coordinated both the medical and dental services at the camp.

A free health check-up camp was successfully held in Bengare, Mangalore on September 1, 2024.

The event was a collaborative effort among several organizations including Speedy Multi Modes Pragya Consultancy, NG World Charitable Trust (R) Mangalore , AL Madrasatul Deeniya Association, Muneeb Bengare Corporator, Rural Health Care, Development Center Yenapoya Vishwa Vidyanalaya, Deralkatte, and Pranaya Charitable Trust.

The camp offered a wide range of medical services including general health check-ups, dermatological assessments, eye examinations, diabetes screening, and gynecological consultations. Approximately 200 individuals from the local community availed themselves of these services.

In his inaugural address, Corporator Muneeb Bengare highlighted the importance of regular health check-ups and expressed concern over the lack of awareness among people regarding their health. He urged the community to take proactive steps towards maintaining their well-being.

The program was presided over by Kabir Ahmed, General Secretary of Al Madrasatul Deeniya Association. Other notable attendees included Smitha D'Souza, Principal of Pragya Counseling Center, Dr. Meer Karkera from C, Rash, members of Pranaya Charitable Trust, Muzain I, B, M, President of S, D, P, I Bengare Ward, and Latif Shekham, Masjid In-charge. The health staff and local residents also participated actively in the event.

Free glasses were distributed sponsored by NG WORLD trust to those in need, ensuring that vision care was addressed. Lilly Marie C.T. from Multi Purpose provided an engaging presentation that underscored the camp’s objectives and highlighted its successes.

The event was well-received by the community, demonstrating the effectiveness of collaborative efforts in providing essential health services to those who might otherwise have limited access. The organizers and volunteers are commended for their commitment to enhancing public health in Bengare, Mangalore.

ಮಾನಿನಿ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಮಂಜುಳಾ ಜೋನ್ ರವರು ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ರೋಗದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಯಾರಿಸಿದ ಕರಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ಅನಾವರಣ ಮಾಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು. ಕಡಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಪಂಚಾಯತ್ ಸಹಾಯಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ . ಹರೀಶ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಡಿ.ಕೆ.ಆರ್.ಡಿ.ಎಸ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾಗಿರುವ ವಂದನೀಯ ಫಾ. ಬಿನೋಯಿ ಎ. ಜೆ. ಪ್ರಾಸ್ತಾವಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ನಡೆಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ರೋಗದ ವಿರುದ್ಧದ ಅಭಿಯಾನದ ಕುರಿತು ಸಮಗ್ರವಾಗಿ ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.

ಕಿರಣ್ ಮಹಿಳಾ ತಾಲೂಕು ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಗ್ರೇಸಿ ಪಿಂಟೋ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.

ಸುನಿಲ್ ರವರು ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿ, ಕಡಬ ಕಿರಣ್ ಮಹಿಳಾ ತಾಲೂಕು ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಗ್ರೇಸಿ ಪಿಂಟೋ ಧನ್ಯವಾದವಿತ್ತರು. ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾರ್ಕ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾರವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು. ಸಭಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಬಳಿಕ ಕಡಬ ಪೇಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ರೋಗದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮೈಕ್ ಉದ್ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿ, ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಗೆ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ರೋಗದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕರಪತ್ರ ಹಂಚಲಾಯಿತು. ಆರ್ಥಿಕವಾಗಿ ಹಿಂದುಳಿದ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ರೋಗ ಪೀಡಿತ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನೆರವಾಗುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಂದ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಂಗಡಿ ಮುಂಗಟ್ಟುಗಳ ವರ್ತಕರಿಂದ ಧನ ಸಹಾಯ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಣೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು.

The event was organized through a partnership of several organizations, including Speedy Multi Modes Pragya Consultancy, NG World Charitable Trust (R) Mangalore, Rural Health Care, Development Center Yenapoya Vishwa Vidyanalaya, Deralkatte, and Al Jumman Mosque.

The camp offered a comprehensive range of medical services, including general health check-ups, dermatological evaluations, eye exams, diabetes screening, and gynecological consultations. Around 220 local residents took advantage of these free services.

The program was spearheaded by Dr. Siraj, who led the team of medical professionals. As part of the initiative, NG World Charitable Trust also sponsored the distribution of free eyeglasses to those in need, addressing vision care concerns in the community.
