🏆 Congratulations to GreenTrek Research & Development on securing 2nd Place (Runner-up) at the Greenovation Green Steel Challenge 2026, a national innovation challenge by EarthOn Foundation focused on decarbonizing India's steel sector.

Founded by Sandeep Gupta, GreenTrek is developing Circular Micro-Foundries that transform industrial waste, particularly mill scale, into ultra-pure, low-carbon iron through a fossil-fuel-free, self-sustaining process. By enabling near-zero-carbon, zero-waste steel production at the source, the startup aims to decentralize manufacturing, reduce emissions, create local jobs, and accelerate the transition toward a circular and sustainable steel industry.

GreenTrek's journey with IIT Mandi Catalyst began through the Exploration Programme, where the team transformed its vision into a working prototype. The startup further advanced its technology with support from the HPCED Sustainable Allowance and later accelerated its growth through the NIDHI Seed Support Scheme (NIDHI-SSS).
