Padh Yatra is a walking pilgrimage, and we at Youth Alliance see it as a conversation with nature and ourselves.
We walk in nature, together.
For a few days, we step away from the city and into the mountains of Bir, Himachal Pradesh, camping in the wilderness and moving through nature at a pace our bodies were actually built for. The program centres on mindful walking, silence, and being in nature.🏔️

Youth Alliance through its Action Learning Day organised a documentary screening and discussion on 18th April, 2026. We watched Nagarkirtan (2019), and Bathakka Hridayam Thunna Ponnu (2026).

In the session that followed, participants discussed bodies, how different identity markers frame our bodies differently, how discrimination works, and how a common resistance can be grounded through and on our bodies, echoing hopes for an alternative future and world hinged on radical love and togetherness.

Aadrit, from Hope and Humanity, facilitated the session, carrying us through difficult emotions and feelings, while Harshappi Harsh, the director of the second documentary, joined us virtually to discuss ways to stitch a watermelon heart in these troubled times. The session had snacks, stories, screenings, holding and creating spaces together—and that is all that matters after all.

The last few days at Earth Shastra has been evocative, full of learning and unlearning, slowdown in the nature and of the twists and turns into the winding path of an ecosystem like Uttarakhand.
To be able to deconstruct some of the core concepts of the poly crisis, and see it with both conventional and exploratory lens has been a delight!

The Earth Shastra cohort and team has shown up beautifully to the emergence of the program and we are grateful to all those visible and invisible forces that made it possible 🫶

Getting in touch with our own bodies and its senses have been tried and tested many times over at Earth Shastra.
The grounding that it invites into the space, within and around, is incredible and unparalleled.
We also believe in a learning modality which is wholesome, inside halls and rooms, outside in the informal space, and through travelling to different ecosystems as well as the quiet and loud time within self.
The caravan of Earth Shastra took a halt to immerse themselves in the local river stream, allowing for a deep cleanse of whatever overwhelm one may accumulate over this long and rigorous journey of unfolding the polycrisis.
We are nearing the end of the 11th Edition and the blossoming is at full swing.
Having witnessed a local community, and through rich and organic interactions, learning how they live and organise themselves to run a community based project gives a glimpse into what is possible!
Thanks for making this journey possible ❤️

Earth Shastra 11th Edition begins!

Lapped in the forest of Sattal, we started the journey of Earth Shastra with an exceptionally diverse group of people coming from 3 countries and over a dozen states in India with varied age, fields of study, work, exploration and so much more.
Along with getting to know each other a bit, today’s intention was to ground ourselves in the space, with the people and all the beings around us.
The days for unwrapping what’s happening in the world and what happens within us, while we walk on this journey of existing in the world!
The quest began with acknowledging the presence of the person in front of us and letting them feel that ‘I see you’

Climate change can also present itself as a distant word, so deconstructing some concepts around to really absorb the essence of it was the intention and the causes and symptoms of it followed the rest of the day!

We sought for permission from the forest to let us in, and we are excited to prepare the soil with everyone for the 7 more days that will follow and beyond it ❤️

Thankyou for coming! You are welcome here ❤️

Youth Alliance invites you to an engaging Action Learning Day, centered around powerful storytelling and critical dialogue. Two Year Evolutionary Leadership Journey!
Last year, we completed a big experiment at Youth Alliance. A Two Year Journey on Evolutionary Leadership with our senior alumni who have been in the social change for 8-10 years. We started with 22 participants and 17 completed the two years - going through six 5-day in-person modules, weekly yoga classes and fortnightly online reflective circles.

We are grateful to our spectacular facilitators, Naveen (Steward, Aram) and Apoorva (Founder, In.breath) and proud of all the participants. Here’s a film that glimpse into the learnings, experiences that revealed new layers for us and how the insights got carried to different contexts. Have a watch and send us your comments as to what it evokes for you.

“After fifteen years in the social sector, I realise while we focus deeply on external change and systems, spaces for preparing our inner rhythm - our inner clock - are rare. The two year journey with YA was intending exactly this” said Tejal, who is a facilitator and community weaver, an alumni from 2012 and also team nurturer at YA since 2016.

“Different modules led to realizations - to witness the difficult parts of me and converse with them. It led to a deeper understanding and acceptance of myself” says Aditya, Founder of Kadam School (UP) and YA alumni from 2014.

“The practice of deep friendships beame the ground of exploring our inner worlds, community and the socio-economic political systems we interact with all the time” reflected Ishwarya who is a manager for Briedging Leadership at Synergos.
