WEEK 3 of Zero Waste School Program: Another Day of Learning and Smiles.

As part of our Zero Waste School Project, our team visited Manish Giri Memorial School, Nagrakata on 9th May 2026 for another engaging session filled with learning, creativity, awareness, and interactive activities with the students.

The session was planned in a fun and engaging way so that children could learn comfortably while enjoying every activity. With the students of Nursery, LKG, and UKG, the focus was on helping them learn basic things through playful methods. They practiced introducing themselves, identifying body parts, 1-2-3 counting, and A-Z learning through dancing, singing, and small interactive activities. Their energy, innocent responses, and happy smiles made the whole environment cheerful and lively.

On the other side, students from Classes 1 to 4 were first given a short recap of the previous session before being introduced to the concept of the 3Rs, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. The discussion was kept simple and interactive so they could understand the importance of managing waste in their daily lives. To make the session more creative and enjoyable, the students also participated in bottle painting activities using used bottles. It was amazing to see their creativity, ideas, and excitement while turning simple waste materials into something colorful and meaningful.

The session was carried out by our team of 7 members along with the support and cooperation of the school teachers, whose involvement made the interaction with students even more comfortable and engaging for everyone.

Seeing the students participate so actively, learn new things with excitement, and enjoy every activity together made the entire session even more special.

Together, through small steps and meaningful actions, we continue moving towards a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
Join our movement and become a part of the change.

WEEK 2 of Zero waste school Program: Composting day.✨

From small hands to big change, moving towards zero waste.

On 2nd May 2026, we visited Manish Giri Memorial School, Nagrakata, as part of our Zero Waste initiative. The day was planned in a way that students could learn while enjoying every moment.

With the little ones from Nursery, LKG, and UKG, the focus was on nurturing good habits from an early age. Through rhymes, singing, dancing, and small activities, they learned while smiling and participating with full energy. It was beautiful to see how quickly they connected and responded.

On the other side, students from Classes 1 to 4 were introduced to compost making. What made this session special was their involvement students brought vegetable peels from their own homes and, with our guidance, learned how to make compost by themselves. Watching them do it on their own and understand its importance was really meaningful. After the session, we also played games with them, making the learning experience more fun and interactive.

We were a team of 4 members along with 1 intern, and together we tried to make the day engaging and useful for the students. The interaction with them made the whole experience even more special for us as well.

It might look like a small step, but it’s a step towards building awareness and better habits from a young age.

The smallest steps often lead to the biggest changes.
Today marked the beginning of our Zero Waste School Project at Manish Giri Memorial School, Nagrakata, where the focus was not just on teaching, but on building awareness from the very start.

The session was designed to connect with students in a simple yet meaningful way. While the younger ones were introduced to basic habits like avoiding excessive packaged food and using dustbins properly, they also engaged through rhymes and playful activities that made learning natural and enjoyable. At the same time, students from Classes 1 to 4 were guided through the importance of waste management and plantation, helping them understand how even small actions can contribute to a healthier and cleaner environment.

What made the day more meaningful was the interaction, not just with students, but also with teachers, creating a space for shared ideas and better understanding. With 8 team members working together, the session became more than just an activity, it became a step towards shaping responsible habits in young minds.

This was only the first day, but it laid a strong foundation. Because real change does not happen instantly, it grows slowly through awareness, consistency, and the willingness to start.

Today, Team Zindagi stood at the heart of Salesian College to bridge the gap between a warming world and a sustainable backyard. Invited by the Radio Club for the Green Campus Engagement Initiative, we didn’t just talk about “trash”—we talked about a revolution in perception.

We dived deep into:
📍 The Global Scale: Why “Global Boiling” is the new reality for our land, air, and water.
📍 The Consumption Trap: How unnecessary consumption is fueling the crisis.
📍 The Green Dividend: Why Youth Involvement is the only “profit” that matters for our future.

Waste isn’t an end product; it’s a misplaced resource. By decentralizing management, we can turn our campuses into the blueprints for a Zero-Waste world.

A Heartfelt Vote of Thanks:
Huge gratitude to the Radio Club .live for organizing such a high-impact session. Special thanks to the Reverend Principal, the dedicated Professors, and the incredible students of Salesian College. Your energy made this a massive success!
Also we would like to thank our team members

Let’s stop “managing” waste and start designing it out of existence. 🌿✨

On 21st September, Team Zindagi successfully organized a cleanup drive at the Murti riverside with the active participation of 10 dedicated members. Murti, being a popular tourist destination, attracts a large number of visitors every year.
Unfortunately, the beauty of this natural spot is often marred by the waste left behind-plastic bottles, wrappers, and other non-biodegradable items that not only pollute the riverbank but also harm the environment and wildlife.
Our team took the initiative to restore the charm of this place by collecting and clearing the waste. After the cleanup, we carefully segregated the collected waste into different categories such as recyclables, non-recyclables, and sanitary waste. The recyclable items were handed over to a local scrap vendor to ensure they were channelized into the recycling process. Staying true to our eco-friendly principle of
"No Dump and No Burn," we ensured that none of the waste went back into nature.
