Happy 80th Independence Day of India! 🇮🇳
Today, the Dimasa Students’ Union (DSU) Maibang District Committee paid heartfelt tribute to the great revolutionary freedom fighter veer Sambhudhan Phonglo, whose courage, sacrifice and resistance remain an enduring part of our history and collective memory.
The Tricolour National Flag was proudly hoisted by the Chief Guest, Executive Member Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Shri Manjoy Langthasa along with President Dimasa Students’ Union Central Committee Shri Sidut Naiding and Maibang Area Phonglo Hosom Welfare Committee . On this historic occasion, we remember that independence was not merely the transfer of political power—it was the result of countless struggles, sacrifices and dreams of those who stood against colonial oppression.
As we celebrate 80 years of freedom, let us honour our forgotten heroes, protect our democratic values and ensure that the meaning of freedom reaches every community and every citizen. Their sacrifices remind us that true independence demands unity, dignity, justice, equality and responsibility.
Jai Hind! 🇮🇳
