Sensory processing can show up in so many different ways.

Some children avoid sensory input.
Some children seek more of it.
Some children do both depending on the situation.

What may look like “overreacting,” “not listening,” “fussy,” or “too hyper” may actually be their body trying to feel safe and regulated.

When we understand the sensory need behind the behaviour, we can support the child better. 🤍

For many neurodivergent children, “time to stop” doesn’t just mean ending an activity. It can feel like an abrupt shift away from something predictable, enjoyable or regulating.

Transitions require children to:
• stop one task
• shift attention
• process a change
• prepare for what comes next

And when that feels overwhelming, it can lead to frustration, resistance or meltdowns.

Preparing children before transitions, using visual warnings and giving extra processing time can often make stopping feel safer and easier.

If transitions regularly turn into stressful moments at home, Embrace can help you understand what may be making them hard for your child - connect with us on +91 90827 16451.

Many neurodivergent children are judged by behaviour that is often misunderstood from the outside.

What looks like stubbornness may actually be difficulty with transitions. What looks like “not trying” may be overwhelm. And what looks like overreacting may simply be a nervous system processing things more intensely.

Behaviour therapy teaches us that children usually do well when they can and when they struggle repeatedly, there is often a skill, support or need underneath the behaviour that is being missed.

The goal is not just to change behaviour, but to understand what the child may be experiencing beneath it.

If these patterns feel familiar, Embrace can help you better understand your child’s needs and behaviours - connect with us on +91 90827 16451.

Your child may know the answer… but still not respond.
They may start a task… but struggle to finish it.
They may understand what to do… but find it hard to follow through.

When these patterns don’t make sense from the outside, they are often linked to executive functioning skills - the brain processes responsible for planning, organising, initiating, remembering and sustaining effort.

Many neurodivergent children are not struggling with intelligence. They are struggling with the process behind getting things done.

If these everyday difficulties are becoming frustrating or confusing, Embrace can help you understand what may be getting in your child’s way - connect with us on +91 90827 16451.

Some children don’t avoid tasks because they are lazy. They struggle because getting started itself can feel overwhelming.

Task initiation requires planning, organising, shifting attention and knowing where to begin - skills that can be difficult for many neurodivergent children, even when they want to do the task.

When we reduce overwhelm and provide the right structure, children are often able to engage much more successfully.

If starting tasks has become a daily struggle for your child, Embrace can help you better understand the skills that may need support - connect with us on +91 90827 16451.

Different doesn’t mean less—it just means different.
Understanding neurodiversity starts with shifting from “fixing” to “accepting.” 💙

After school meltdowns are often less about “bad behaviour” and more about a child reaching the end of their capacity.

Many children spend the entire day following instructions, managing sensory input, navigating social expectations and trying to hold it together. By the time they get home, there is often very little left in the tank.
What looks like a sudden outburst is often the release of everything they worked hard to hold in all day.

If after-school behaviour feels confusing or intense, Embrace can help you understand what your child may need in those moments - connect with us on +91 90827 16451.

Some phrases may seem small in the moment, but they can shape how children learn to understand and respond to their own emotions.

For many neurodivergent children, emotional reactions are not “too much” they are often intense, physical and hard to manage without support. What helps most is not minimising the feeling, but responding in ways that help the child feel safe enough to regulate.

If emotional outbursts have been feeling difficult to navigate, Embrace can help you better understand what your child may need in those moments - connect with us on +91 90827 16451.
