Thank you Hon. MoS Dr.L.Murugan for supporting our demand of upgrading Madurai airport from Customs to International status..

Adding Madurai as a Point of Call (POC) in the list of 18 Tourism cities accorded as POC's in the Bilateral agreement of ASEAN nations will be more helpful. This single move can enable direct International flight operations from Madurai to 11 ASEAN countries including much needed Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand etc.

Union Cabinet approves upgradation of Madurai airport from Civil status to International Airport, which is a long felt demand of the Southern Tamilnadu.
