PASS System – How to Use a Fire Extinguisher

In a fire emergency, remember PASS:

P – Pull the safety pin.
A – Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire.
S – Squeeze the handle to release the extinguishing agent.
S – Sweep the nozzle from side to side across the base of the flames.

Remember: Only attempt to extinguish a small fire if you are trained, have the correct extinguisher, and have a safe escape route behind you. If the fire grows or conditions become unsafe, evacuate immediately and call emergency services.
