𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮 | 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗘𝗢𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗣𝗢𝘀

The second day of the Applied Thematic Training Programme for CEOs of FPOs focused on strengthening the business and management capabilities of Farmer Producer Organization leaders.

The Forenoon Session was led by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗨𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗷𝗶, Director of Sarva Jana Kosh, who shared practical insights on business planning and strategic management for sustainable FPO growth.

The Afternoon Session featured 𝗠𝘀. 𝗕. 𝗦𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗶, Founder, CEO & Managing Director of Veerapandy Kalanjia Jeevidam Producer Company Limited and Periya Kalrayan Millet Women Farmer Producer Company, who joined virtually via Google Meet. She shared her entrepreneurial journey, practical experiences, challenges, and best practices in building successful Farmer Producer Organizations.

The programme was further enriched by𝗖𝗖𝗗 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 – 𝗠𝘀. 𝗩.𝗞. 𝗣𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗮𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘆, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗼, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗿. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗶, who co-delivered thematic sessions throughout the day.

A key highlight was the 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮, where participants applied financial concepts to real-world FPO scenarios, strengthening their business planning and decision-making skills.

The programme concluded with valuable learning, peer interaction, and practical knowledge that will support CEOs in leading stronger and more sustainable Farmer Producer Organizations.

𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗣𝗢 𝗖𝗘𝗢𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿-𝗢𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

The Covenant Centre for Development (CCD) successfully conducted the Two-Day Applied Thematic Training Programme for CEOs of FPOs on 2nd and 3rd July 2026 at the Centre for Experiencing Socio-Cultural Interaction (CESCI) training centre, Natham, Dindigul district.

The programme brought together CEOs from 10 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) to strengthen their leadership, business knowledge, and institutional management capabilities.

On Day 1, the focus was on strengthening FPO governance and systems with the perspective of increasing the participation of shareholders in the business.

The forenoon session on processes and performance indicators of best-performing FPOs was led by Mr. Ulaganathaji, Director of Sarva Jana Kosh, while the afternoon session on increasing member participation in the business was delivered by Mr. Sakthi Balan A, District Development Manager (DDM), NABARD, Madurai.

The programme was further enriched by CCD Resource Persons – Ms. V.K. Padmavathy, Mr. John Britto, and Mr. Parthasarathi – who co-delivered thematic sessions throughout the day.

A key highlight was the Case Study Interaction, where participants discussed the case study of the FPO promoted under NDDB and explored practical approaches to strengthen farmer-owned institutions through collaborative learning.

The day concluded with active participation and meaningful knowledge exchange, laying a strong foundation for the sessions ahead.

On May 11, 2026, The Covenant Centre for Development (CCD) completed 37 years since its founding in 1989.

For over three decades, CCD has worked closely with communities — supporting livelihoods, strengthening Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and creating meaningful change at the grassroots.

This journey has been possible because of the people, communities, and supporters who stood with us every step of the way ❤️
