Minutes of the Meeting
The 874th Regular Weekly Meeting of the Rotary Club of Madhyamgram Metropolitan was held on 2nd August 2026. The meeting commenced with the President welcoming all members and reviewing the agenda for the week.
The following matters were discussed and resolved:
1. It was decided that the Rotary Leadership Course (RLC) leaflets should be published and circulated on a priority basis.
2. The club discussed the upcoming Independence Day Celebration. It was resolved to organize flag hoisting at the club venue, followed by distribution of fruits at Thikana Bhalobasha, an old age home. A budget of ₹2,500–₹3,000 was approved for the activity.
3. Members were informed about the club’s co-hosting of the recent Four-Way Test Week programme organized by the Rotary Club of Charnock City.
4. The Treasurer was requested to follow up with members for the collection of pending membership dues.
5. The club approved a donation of ₹5,000 towards the Blood Donation Camp organized by Friends Welfare Society on 2nd August 2026. Three club members attended the programme, and 42 beneficiaries donated blood.
6. A discussion was held regarding the club’s Durga Puja initiative with the theme “Say No to Plastic”. Members deliberated on the necessary awareness measures and activities to promote an eco-friendly celebration.
7. It was resolved that US$200 be remitted from the club account to The Rotary Foundation (TRF) as the club’s contribution.
8. Members discussed the upcoming Rotary Film Festival and the Employee–Employer App, encouraging greater awareness and participation.
9. The Board discussed the status of members facing prolonged physical illness and agreed to review their membership individually with due consideration and support.
10. Members discussed the forthcoming project “Ananda Sneha”, scheduled to be held at Mitram on 11th August 2026, and finalized the preparatory arrangements.
11. PP Rtn Subhash Chandra Dey cordially invited all club members and their families to attend the Puja at his residence on 15th August 2026, followed by lunch.
12. The club appreciated the publication of the July online monthly bulletin “Renaissance”, edited by PP Rtn Swapan Banerjee, and conveyed special thanks to Rtn Sanju Karmakar for preparing the bulletin.
There being no further business, PP Rtn Swapan Banerjee proposed the vote of thanks. The meeting concluded with fellowship.
