Reviving Green Revolution Cell RGR Cell is an Indian Non-Profit, headquartered in Ludhiana, Punjab and committed to improving rural livelihoods through agricultural development.

The ‘Reviving the Green Revolution (RGR) Initiative in Punjab was operationalised by the Sir Ratan Tata Trust in 2002 to seeks answers and solutions to arrest the stagnation in agriculture in Punjab that had set in, during the post Green Revolution period. The Trust’s chief partners within the initiative have been the various departments in the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana and Ta

mil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore, which have been involved in development and demonstration of various innovative concepts to farmers.Currently, the RGR Cell, is supported by the Sir Ratan Tata Trust, Navajbai Ratan Tata Trust and Department of Agriculture in Punjab and Tamil Nadu.

With her husband away for work, Rajeshwari, a mother of four from Kuriyanur, Tamil Nadu, had to think of ways to generate regular income. The Latchathipathi Vivasayi project, being run by Reviving Green Revolution, a partner of the Trusts, offered to enhance the herd of goats and provided intensive training on goat rearing. Agricultural diversification has helped Rajeshwari and tribal families of Jawadhu Hills generate a new stream of income. For them, 'the bleating of goats is a pleasant melody,' indeed.
