Sharing some moments from the wonderful Spirtual Renewal Weekend at Hyderabad to Celebrate Swami Kriyananda Ji’s 100th birth year. It was a deeply inspiring spiritual gathering of like minded devotees, united in their love of God and Guru. Swami Kriyananda brought a very creative expression of Paramhansa Yogananda Ji’s teachings through Music, Dance, Plays, Chanting and of course deep meditations. To have a spiritual family to walk together on the path towards God is a great blessing.
More than 300 of us gathered in person and around 3000 online for this special occasion.

It was on this day that the blessed Lahiri Mahasaya ji was born. He was given the sacred task of spreading the teachings of Kriya Yoga in this age by his guru Mahavatar Babaji. We bow to him again and again for making these sacred teachings available to all householders. May he continue to shower his blessings on all. Aum Guru 🙏🏻✨🌸

MAHASAMADHI OF LAHIRI MAHASAYA September 26th, 1895

A few days before my guru relinquished his body, he materialised himself before me as I sat in my hermitage at Hardwar.

‘Come at once to Banaras.’ With these words Lahiri Mahasaya vanished.

I entrained immediately for Banaras. At my guru’s home I found many disciples assembled. For hours that day (September 26th, 1895) the master expounded the Gita; then he addressed us simply.

‘I am going home.’

Our sobs of anguish broke out like an irresistible torrent.

‘Be comforted; I shall rise again.’ After this utterance Lahiri Mahasaya rose from his seat, thrice turned his body around in a circle, assumed the lotus posture while facing the north, and gloriously entered mahasamadhi.

Lahiri Mahasaya’s beautiful body, so dear to the devotees, was cremated with solemn householder rites at Manikarnika Ghat by the holy Ganges.

It was on this day, 12th September 1948 that Swami Kriyananda Ji met his Guru, Paramhansa Yogananda Ji. Swami Kriyananda read the Autobiography of a Yogi in New York. As soon as he read it he took the next bus to Los Angeles to meet Yogananda. His first words to his guru were, “I want to be your Disciple”. This started Swamiji’s whole lifetime of service and devotion to his Guru till the end of his life in 2013. As an offering to his Guru, Swami Kriyananda wrote 150 books, 400 pieces of music and started the wonderful organisation called Ananda Sangha to spread Yogananda’s teachings all over the world. Let us use Swami Kriyananda’s example and dedicate our lives to serving our Guru and finding God. 🙏🏻🌸

Yesterday was a very blessed and sacred day at the Guru Kripa Hermitage which is a monastery being built by Ananda Monks under the guidance of Nayaswamis Devarshi Ji and Shankara Ji. Our worldwide spiritual directors Nayaswami Jyotish Ji and Devi Ji were there to bless the land and to do the groundbreaking ceremony for the first Temple of Light in India. Many gurubhais from Centers all over India were there. It was a very blessed and sacred day and a great joy to see such a wonderful Monastery being built to serve God and Guru. 🙏🏻🌸
