80th Independence Day Celebrations | SKBM High School, Guntur

The spirit of freedom and patriotism came alive at SKBM High School, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, as students, teachers and the community came together to celebrate the 80th Independence Day with enthusiasm and pride.

Celebrating Independence Day Through Creativity, Community & Responsibility

On the occasion of Independence Day, the ITC Mission Sunehra Kal (MSK) – FINISH Society Team organised a series of engaging activities at Agraharam and Srinivasa Rao, bringing together students and community members to celebrate the spirit of freedom and responsible citizenship.

🎨 Essay Writing & Drawing Competitions | SKBM School, Agraharam, Guntur- A.P.
Students participated enthusiastically in two competitions:
✍️ Essay Writing – “Freedom Fighters”
Students reflected on the contributions and sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters, expressing their thoughts on the values of courage, sacrifice and patriotism.
🖌️ Drawing Competition – “Save Environment”
Through colourful and creative artwork, students highlighted the importance of environmental conservation, cleanliness and sustainable living.
🤝 Mohalla Committee Meeting | Srinivasa Rao
A Mohalla Committee meeting was also conducted to create awareness among community members about the significance of Independence Day, civic responsibility, cleanliness and maintaining a clean and healthy neighbourhood.
The active participation of students and community members made these activities meaningful and engaging—demonstrating that the spirit of independence is strengthened when we take collective responsibility for our communities and environment.

Independence Day | Cleanliness Awareness Rally at Narmadapur, Mainpat, Surguja- Chhattisgarh

As part of the LIC HFL Parivesh Project, the FINISH Society team organised a grand Cleanliness Awareness Rally in Narmadapur district to promote the spirit of cleanliness and community participation on the occasion of Independence Day.

The rally was held in the gracious presence and leadership of the CEO, Janpad Panchayat Narmadapur, along with the Janpad President and Vice-President.

Students from various schools and members of the local community participated enthusiastically, raising slogans and spreading messages on:

🤝 Community Participation in Sanitation

Dungarpur is Changing — Now Embracing Four-Bin Segregation! ♻️

As part of the “Dungarpur Badal Raha Hai – Ab Char Bin Apna Raha Hai” initiative, the FINISH Society team in Dungarpur, in collaboration with Nagar Parishad Dungarpur, organised a Mohalla Meeting at Shaheed Park to strengthen community participation in keeping the neighbourhood clean and managing waste responsibly.

A Mohalla Committee was formed during the meeting, with Mr. Gaurishankar Joshi appointed as its President. The discussion focused on the role and responsibility of community members in maintaining a clean and healthy neighbourhood. Residents were sensitised on source segregation and the four types of waste generated at household level, along with the importance of handing over segregated waste to the door-to-door collection vehicle.

The community was encouraged to:

♻️ Segregate waste at source and keep different types of waste separately.

🚛 Hand over waste only to the door-to-door collection vehicle.

🚯 Never dump waste in open spaces or vacant plots—and discourage others from doing so.

🌱 Compost wet waste at home and use the compost as a natural manure for gardens and plants.

The meeting reinforced an important message: A cleaner Dungarpur begins with responsible actions at every household and active participation at every neighbourhood.

🌱 Planting Today, Growing a Greener Tomorrow! 🌳

The Kalakh Project Team, in collaboration with the Aavas Financiers Limited team, VDC members, government officials, and villagers, organised a plantation drive in village Kalakh, Jaipur- Rajasthan.

As part of the initiative, 250 saplings—including fruit-bearing, shade-giving, and timber-producing varieties—were planted with collective community participation.

🌿 Our goal: 5,000 trees for a greener, healthier and more sustainable Kalakh!

🧹 Cleanliness begins with community action! 🌿

Under the LIC Housing Finance Limited Parivesh Project, FINISH Society organized a cleanliness drive at the main market and village square of Ropakhar Gram Panchayat.

The campaign focused on cleaning public spaces, proper waste segregation, and raising awareness among residents and shopkeepers about keeping their surroundings clean.

The drive was attended by Deputy Sarpanch Mr. Rajnish Pandey, SBM Block Coordinator Mr. Dharmendra Yadav, SHG members, and local community members.

Together, we are building cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable villages.

🌱 Yuva Guntur – Green Guntur | Growing a Greener Future Together! 🌳

A greener Guntur begins with collective action!

The Yuva Guntur – Green Guntur Pilot Launch Program was organized by the Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) and ITC Mission Sunehara Kal, at Shilparamam Park, near the RTO Office, Guntur, marking an important step towards a greener and more sustainable district.

🌿 One Lakh Trees. One Shared Vision. A Greener Guntur.

The initiative aims to plant one lakh trees across Guntur district, contributing to increased green cover, environmental sustainability, and a healthier future for communities.

The launch was graced by Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications & Member of Parliament; Ramanjaneyulu - MLA, Guntur Rural, Mohamed Nazeer - MLA, Guntur East; Mayur Ashok Kumar - IAS, Commissioner, Guntur Municipal Corporation; Nazeena Begum - Regional Officer, Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board, Guntur and Bhashyam Ramakrishna - Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha.

MEPMA staff, GMC officials, and representatives from various departments also joined the program, reflecting a shared commitment to building a greener, healthier, and more sustainable Guntur.
