SUSTAINABLE UPLIFTMENT THROUGH PARTICIPATORY PROCESS ON RURAL TRANSFORMATION (SUPPORT) is a non-governmental and non-profit organization, working for the weaker and deprived sections of the society. Its mission is to bring Qualitative improvement & changes in lives of the vulnerable & deprived sections of the society. Since its inception in 1999, SUPPORT continues working in the favour of poor, ma
rginalized, vulnerable and deprived sections of society in the remote, ravine and dacoit-affected areas of Bundelkhand region and Devi Patan Mandal of eastern UP. Its target community includes the poorest and most marginalized women, men, girls, boys and socially excluded people. Its work area falls in Bundelkhand region and eastern part of Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, Hariyana, Rajsthan and Punjab. At present, SUPPORT encompasses more than 300 villages of district Jalaun, Jhansi, Balrampur, Gonda, Bahraich, Shravasti, Pratapgarh, Sultanpur, Banda and Chitrakoot in Uttar Pradesh and hence providing the community a platform to lead their lives independently and with dignity, so that they are treated as equal human beings. Our social analysis reveals that Feudal System, Caste Discrimination, Gender Discrimination, Untouchability, Illiteracy, Poverty, Poor health status, Migration, natural calamities, drought etc are the major obstacles in the region.
