Dr Sunita Gandhi : Co-Founder, Council for Global Education, USA

Dr Sunita Gandhi is an educator, author, innovator and researcher. She is the Founder of Council for Global Education (USA), Dignity, Education Vision International (India), and the Education Society of Iceland (Islensku menntasamtokin ses). She has travelled to and studied education systems in 38 countries.

Background & Research Experience

After a PhD in Physics from Cambridge University, UK on three merit-based scholarships, Dr Sunita Gandhi served a ten-year tenure as Young Professional, Project Manager and Economist at the World Bank in Washington, D.C., USA. Dr Gandhi established Iceland’s first two charter schools and experimental schools in the Czech Republic and India. Her research-based work in education has been piloted and implemented in the UK, Iceland, India and 14 other countries. Dr Gandhi was invited as the Keynote Presenter at the Finland’s Annual Education Conference organised by the Finnish National Board of Education in 2013.

Dr Gandhi also serves as the Honorary Chief Academic Advisor of her family-run City Montessori School, Lucknow, the world’s largest school, a Guinness World Record Holder, and recipient of the UNESCO Prize for Peace Education.
