TWINKLE, Lucknow is on its onward march with student friendly learning. The project continues with constant support from Farzana Rashid Memorial Trust & AFMI. When sacrifices are being made to get a child into the classroom there is nothing more discouraging than finding that the school is not providing an atmosphere where the children achieve their potential. But what about those children wh
o never have been seen the door of a school. Anam Rashid realized this genuine issue & started a movement with the help of YES Foundation. She was driven by the belief that all children – whoever they are, wherever they are- have the right to a fulfilling life. These both organizations started an initiative name “TWINKLE-every child is born to shine.” In the city of Lucknow. First learning center has been started under Twinkle project in Malpur area, near Dubbaga, where 60-70 migrated families making their own upbringing. Our philosophy is what we do today & plan for tomorrow to make a better future for children. The project caters to the educational needs of underprivileged children from backward communities falling in the age of the 5 to 14 years. Beneficiaries are mainly kids who have not seen the face of school. A few of course are there who poor learners are even though they are school goers. The project emphases on overall holistic development of children, providing them supplementary education and making them realize their identity in the growth of humanity. We focus basically on the state capital’s outskirt area Mallpur where underprivileged children are so far from their basic rights; they are much disadvantaged and down rooted. We work on their basic education & nutrition
We are working to create quality, inclusive, learner-friendly environments for all children to ensure that the Right to Education Act, 2009 is implemented.. We believe:
• All children have eagerness to learn.
• Each child brings a different set of abilities, expectations, experiences and attitude to school.
• Children use their existing experiences and knowledge to construct new understanding and skills. What they are able to learn will depend to some extent on what they already know.
• ‘How’ and ‘what’ children are encouraged to learn
• Harnessing children’s curiosity and eagerness to learn is critical. Children learn best when they can be active and when they understand what they are learning.
• The most valuable methods for student learning are those that correspond to their individual development stages and needs. It cannot be uniform across students.
• Adults play the crucial role in the learning process of children. Teacher as facilitator, planner, instructor, mediator and explainer provides a non-threatening context for learning to take place.
