Bringing clean energy to the remotest corners of Assam is about so much more than just switching on a light, it’s about sustainable empowerment. In Kopili Koch village of Bongaon Block ,Kamrup Assam , what started as a tough trek through impassable mud turned into a powerful step toward a greener earth. In collaboration with the SELCO Foundation, we’ve lit up the first 10 out of 28 weaver households with solar power, with more families eagerly waiting. By replacing the need for fossil fuels or unreliable grids right at the grassroots, these solarized looms prove that rural livelihood development and planetary health can go hand in hand.

Resilience Beyond Limits: The Story of Dimpy Kour
Life changed in an instant for Dimpy Kour from Ranguli, Goalpara during a train journey from Delhi back to Assam, when a tragic fall led to the loss of her right leg. But Dimpy refused to let that accident define her future. Today, she is balancing her B.Ed. studies with a thriving micro-enterprise, proving that determination is stronger than any physical barrier.

Three months ago, Dimpy integrated a Lok Sewa Kendra (LSK) into her existing store. This solar-powered subsidized setup, equipped with a laptop and printer was made possible through the support of the Diya Foundation and SELCO Foundation, who provided the subsidized unit along with essential training in financial management and business scaling. By offering digital services to her local community, she has grown her monthly income to ₹7,000, allowing her to independently cover her tuition, books, and travel costs.
Dimpy’s journey isn't just about financial independence; it’s about rewriting the narrative for girls with disabilities. As she works toward becoming a teacher, she is already leading by example . Showing us all that with the right tools and an unbreakable spirit, there are no limits to what we can achieve.
