We are excited to launch Program Insider, a new series showcasing the latest developments and strategic growth across our initiatives. By comparing current progress with the previous year and outlining our roadmap for the future, we aim to provide a transparent look at our journey and the tangible way forward for each project.

Most importantly, this series spotlights the vast impact created at the community level. Beyond the data, Program Insider focuses on the real-world transformations and sustainable change we are achieving together within the communities we serve.

Resilience Beyond Limits: The Story of Dimpy Kour
Life changed in an instant for Dimpy Kour from Ranguli, Goalpara during a train journey from Delhi back to Assam, when a tragic fall led to the loss of her right leg. But Dimpy refused to let that accident define her future. Today, she is balancing her B.Ed. studies with a thriving micro-enterprise, proving that determination is stronger than any physical barrier.

Three months ago, Dimpy integrated a Lok Sewa Kendra (LSK) into her existing store. This solar-powered subsidized setup, equipped with a laptop and printer was made possible through the support of the Diya Foundation and SELCO Foundation, who provided the subsidized unit along with essential training in financial management and business scaling. By offering digital services to her local community, she has grown her monthly income to ₹7,000, allowing her to independently cover her tuition, books, and travel costs.
Dimpy’s journey isn't just about financial independence; it’s about rewriting the narrative for girls with disabilities. As she works toward becoming a teacher, she is already leading by example . Showing us all that with the right tools and an unbreakable spirit, there are no limits to what we can achieve.

Diya Foundation was honored to host this year’s Rebuild India Fund Yearly Meet & Greet for our Northeast partners. We were joined by representatives from Grameen Sahara, SATRA, UBSSB, UTSAH, Grassroots Shillong, and Mahila Mehfil Morigaon, as well as the Dasra team, for a series of high-level discussions. The agenda focused on critical organizational pillars, including strategic fundraising, compliance, and the transition toward smarter Monitoring, Learning, and Evaluation (MLE) and communication frameworks.

To bridge the gap between strategy and practice, the Rebuild and Dasra teams participated in an extensive field visit to our project sites where they were joined by renowned philanthropist Bhagwan Thacker, founder of the Empowerment Foundation. This provided an essential opportunity for our national partners to engage directly with participants in our livelihood programs and interact with students in our education initiatives. These firsthand observations allowed for a deeper assessment of the current socio-economic landscape and a clearer understanding of the challenges faced by the communities we serve.

By aligning our administrative and reporting standards with the realities on the ground, this gathering has strengthened the collaborative synergy of the Northeast cohort. We are grateful to the Dasra team for their commitment to development. We move forward with a shared vision of creating sustainable, scalable impact across the region.

It’s been an incredible journey so far in the Jirang Development Block of Ri-Bhoi. While this region in Meghalaya is famous for its indigenous traditions in weaving and food, the women here, who are the real backbone of the local economy. They have often hit a wall when it comes to actually scaling their businesses. Between limited training and a lack of clear market linkages, so much potential has stayed trapped at a small scale.

We’re changing that narrative. Our goal is to empower 100 women to turn their traditional skills into sustainable, modern enterprises. We’ve already made some fantastic headway, having completed training for two full batches of 50 women each in Moirapur and Ranibari villages. These sessions weren't just about the basics; we dived deep into skill upgradation for food processing, while also tackling the "business" side of things , financial inclusion, business planning, and credit linkages. We even focused on the final touchpoints like product design, branding, packaging, and the world of online marketing to make sure their products can actually compete.

Building on our current momentum, we are expanding our reach to intervene with 50 handloom weavers across the villages of Patgaon, Jimirigaon, and Bakhalapara within the Jirang Development Block. This initiative aims to strengthen local craftsmanship and provide sustainable livelihood support to these artisan communities."

Diya Foundation recently organized a comprehensive two-day training program for our CRPs to strengthen livestock support in our local communities. On the first day, Personals from Diya Foundation led intensive theory sessions on scientific piggery and backyard poultry management, providing the foundation for modern livestock practices. This was followed by a second day of practical , hands-on training led by Dr. Deba Kinkar Sharma (Veterinary Officer, Satpur) where our CRPs mastered vaccination techniques for local poultry breeds. By equipping them to deliver essential services like timely vaccination and deworming in nearby villages, we are ensuring that farmers have a cost-effective alternative to hiring doctors from town. This initiative not only helps minimize livestock mortality and encourages the adoption of better farming practices but also creates a sustainable income for our CRPs as they provide these vital services right at the farmers' doorsteps.
