Zone MCSU Longpuighat Inaugurates New Office;
Longpuighat, April 23, 2026:The Zonal Mizoram Chakma Students’ Union (MCSU), Longpuighat, formally inaugurated its new office at Pergakalak, Longpuighat today in a ceremony attended by prominent dignitaries, local leaders, and NGOs of the Longpuighat zone.
The event was graced by Dangu Rasik Mohan Chakma, Hon’ble MLA of 36-Tuichawng Assembly Constituency as the chief guest. Dangu Ananta Bikash Chakma, Local MDC of Longpuighat as a guest of honour, along with other public leaders, social activists, and representatives from various NGOs of the zone, were also present.
The inauguration ceremony began with a traditional welcome, followed by the unveiling of the office plaque by Dangu Rasik Mohan Chakma.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Rasik Mohan Chakma stated, _“Building an office is important, but the most important thing is to maintain the office, keep it in good condition, and use it properly for the benefit of future generations.”_ He emphasized that the office should serve as a centre for student welfare, academic guidance, and community development.
Dangu Rasik Mohan Chakma further encouraged the students of the region to give equal importance to skill development alongside formal education. _“In today’s world, only degrees are not enough. He urge our students to learn and choose skill-based courses also, so they can become self-reliant and contribute to society,”_ he added.
Dangu Ananta Bikash Chakma, MDC lauded the efforts of Zone MCSU Longpuighat and assured continued support from the MADC for student-related initiatives. He urged the union to utilize the new office to address grievances of students and organize career counseling programs.
Dangu dipayan chakma incumbent President of zone MCSU longpuighat delivered his speech with great enthusiasm and determination.
The President of Zone MCSU Longpuighat expressed gratitude to all dignitaries and NGOs for their presence and support. He stated that the new office will function as the administrative hub of the union and will remain open to all students of the zone for assistance and coordination.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by refreshments. The inauguration marks a significant step for Zone MCSU Longpuighat in strengthening its organizational activities and outreach in the region.
