The silent guardians of the food forest don’t need a Bat-Signal—they’re already pulling the ultimate midnight shift.

These real-life "caped crusaders" are elite ecological engineers. Scientifically, bats are essential for a resilient system—acting as primary pollinators for fruit trees and providing highly efficient, nightly organic pest control.

Not all heroes wear capes; some are just fluffy, masters of sonar, and the backbone of our biodiversity.

Happy Bat Appreciation Day!🦇

With El Niño looming, the old monoculture playbook won't cut it.

By building a "soil sponge" through biomass and tree-based diversity, we’re not just farming—we’re future-proofing.

Feed the soil to capture every drop.

Buffer the heat with layered canopies.

Boost productivity with a higher Land Equivalent Ratio.

The more we invest in diversity, the more secure our food becomes. 🌳

Two days, one vital connection. 🌳💧

Did you know that over 75% of our accessible freshwater comes from forested watersheds?

As we celebrate International Day of Forests (March 21) and World Water Day (March 22), we’re highlighting the inseparable bond between the two. Forests act as "natural sponges," soaking up rainfall, filtering out pollutants, and recharging our groundwater.

Without healthy forests, our water quality drops and our supply becomes unstable. By protecting our trees, we aren't just saving a forest—we’re securing our most precious resource.

Join us in celebrating this perfect partnership

Grown from the earth, reaching for the sun. 🌿 Celebrating the incredible women who nurture our food forest and keep our community rooted in strength. Just like this forest, we are stronger when we grow together.

Science Day Surprise: The Eight-Legged Agronomist 🕷️🌱

Happy National Science Day! While we’re out here studying agroforestry, this Kidney Garden Spider (Argiope fasciata) decided to show up and peer-review our work.

The Lab Report:

Field Assistant: Slightly leggy, works for flies.

Specialty: Precision architecture and natural pest control.

Current Status: Judging our tree-planting density from the comfort of her high-tensile web.

Who needs a lab coat when you have a natural exoskeleton and a PhD in "Catching Bugs"? Nature’s data collection is looking pretty sharp today. 🕸️🔬

Small Bean, Big Impact

Yesterday was World Pulses Day, and while we are little behind on the post, these superfoods are way ahead when it comes to saving the Earth.

Why Pulses are Climate Heroes:

Low Water Footprint: They use significantly less water than most other protein sources.

Soil Saviors: They naturally fix nitrogen in the soil, reducing the need for synthetic fertilisers.

Drought Tolerant: They are incredibly hardy, making them essential for a climate-resilient food future.

Eat your beans, lentils, and chickpeas—not just for the gains, but for the globe. 🫘✨

At the same time, limited awareness among
farmers about India's National Agroforestry Policy 2014, particularly regarding harvesting rights and regulatory clearances - continued to restrict wider adoption and income generation!

India currently has nearly 28 million hectares of land under agroforestry, and the government has set an ambitious target to expand this to 50 million hectares
