Kerala Reporters and Media Persons Union is an initiative seeking equal rights for journalist irrespective of the the media they work. The organization was formed on July 4th, 2015 in Malapppuram, where about hundred journalists joined to protest against the inequality prevailing among the journalist community. In the initial years of formation the organization raised voice against the discriminat

ion of non-accredited journalists and local reporters by the media houses as well as the fortunate accredited journalist community. Government of Kerala on the demand of Kerala Reporters and Media Persons Union awarded Kshemanidi (Welfare Scheme) pension and retirement benefits to the local reporters of the state. present office bearers
