The Director and the Chairperson, while encouraging deeper alumni involvement in mentorship, placements, entrepreneurship, and institutional development, both expressed serious concern about the declining mental and emotional health of students and urged NITKKRAA to take ownership of building a sustained, long-term mental health support programme. Generous donors and contributors were felicitated, and a productive discussion on the roadmap for structured alumniโinstitute collaboration rounded off a memorable and forward-looking evening.

The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of ๐๐๐ฟ๐๐๐ฒ๐๐ โ a proposed Alumni Centre within the NIT Kurukshetra campus โ presented by Er. Atul Lal. Envisioned as a permanent bridge between alumni and the Institute, KuruSetu aims to serve as a dedicated hub for mentorship, industry interaction, networking, and sustained alumni engagement. The concept was warmly appreciated by both the Chairperson and the Director, who recognised it as a transformative step in deepening the alumniโinstitute relationship.
Addressing the gathering, ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ณ. ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ต๐บ๐ท๐ถ๐ ๐ฆ๐ถ๐ป๐ด๐ต appreciated the unwavering support of the alumni community and called for deeper engagement in mentorship, placements, entrepreneurship, and institutional development. He also spoke with particular concern about the declining mental and emotional health of students, acknowledging that recent distressing incidents had underscored the urgency of the issue. He urged alumni โ as people who have walked the same path โ to help build a sustained, structured mental health support programme for students, emphasising that this is a responsibility the alumni community is uniquely placed to fulfil.
๐๐ฟ. ๐ง๐ฒ๐ท๐ฎ๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ถ ๐๐ป๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ต๐ฎ ๐๐๐บ๐ฎ๐ฟ expressed genuine happiness at the strength and enthusiasm of the alumni turnout and warmly appreciated the vision behind KuruSetu. She encouraged alumni to invest deeply in mentorship, industrial exposure, placements, and student well-being. She, too, spoke directly about the mental and emotional well-being of students, describing it as one of the most pressing challenges facing institutions today. Acknowledging recent untoward incidents with visible concern, she urged NITKKRAA to take ownership of building a long-term, sustainable mental health programme โ rooted in empathy and human connection โ and expressed her earnest hope that the Association would rise to this moment with urgency and compassion. She also emphasised the importance of organising more such alumni gatherings regularly to keep the fraternity engaged and connected.
A moving felicitation of donors and contributors who have generously supported scholarships, awards, welfare initiatives, and infrastructure projects was a highlight of the evening. The programme also featured a productive interaction session on the roadmap for alumniโinstitute collaboration, with discussions around a possible Joint Working Committee to oversee specific projects.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Er. Vipin Rai Sardana, Secretary, NITKKRAA, followed by dinner and warm networking among alumni across generations. DAM โ 2026 reaffirmed, in the most heartfelt terms, the enduring bond of the alumni community with their alma mater and their collective resolve to contribute meaningfully to its future.
