2. BACKGROUND OF THE ORGANISAITON

In 2005 a group of local youth came together to decide the ways and means to improve the living conditions of the people in KULPI Block. Initially they carried out welfare activities contributing their time and energy for EDUCATION CENTER(RABINDRA MUKTA BIDHALAY), free Computer and Mobile Training Institute , Vocational Training Programme ( Tailoring Training Center), IGP ( Garment and Dress making) for vulnerable and dropout girl child , woman and youth Primary Health ( sundarban ), cleaning ponds and offering medical help to the sick people in the locality. In 2008-09, they formed themselves into organizations titles “SOUTHERN RESQUE” (S.R) and registered the same under the Societies registration act. Over the years S.R has matured into a leading the pioneering organization with Education ,health ,SHGs and Women Empowerment as the major with awareness building for the right of the rural populace. 50 villages under 10 Gram Panchayat in 4 Block of South 24 Parganas, in the Sunderban Area in West Bengal.
