DDAC Kulgam Emerges as a Model Centre Under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan

Kulgam, J&K:

The District De-Addiction Centre (DDAC) Kulgam has emerged as one of the leading drug de-addiction and rehabilitation facilities in Jammu and Kashmir under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, providing comprehensive and free treatment services to individuals affected by substance abuse.

Since its establishment, the centre has successfully treated 795 patients from almost all districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Operating at full capacity with 15 beds, DDAC Kulgam has earned the trust of the community through its patient focused approach, quality care, and commitment to long term recovery.

Apart from clinical treatment, the centre has conducted nearly 5,000 individual counselling sessions, helping patients overcome addiction related challenges and maintain sustained recovery. Recognizing the importance of family support in rehabilitation, the centre has also organized around 3,000 family counselling sessions aimed at strengthening support systems and improving treatment outcomes.

As part of its outreach initiatives, DDAC Kulgam has conducted approximately 2,000 awareness programmes and campaigns across the district, spreading awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promoting preventive measures among youth and the general public.

The centre has further undertaken around 1,200 home visits to ensure continuous follow up care, monitor patient progress, and provide support to recovering individuals and their families.

The remarkable achievements of DDAC Kulgam reflect the dedication and hard work of its healthcare professionals, counsellors, and support staff. Through its integrated approach to treatment, rehabilitation, counselling, and community awareness, the centre continues to play a vital role in advancing the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan and building a healthier, drug free society.

With its outstanding performance, extensive community outreach, and strong recovery support mechanisms, DDAC Kulgam has become a beacon of hope for individuals and families affected by substance abuse and stands as a model de-addiction centre in Jammu and Kashmir.
