Sree Narayana Education Society is a Service Organisation devoted to the cause of Education and Social Advancement based on the principle of equality and social justice enunciated by the great social reformer Sree Narayana Guru. The society was registered during the year 19
77. During the past 22 years it has been successfully implementing various educational, social, cultural and humanitarian activities designed to benefit the general public without any distinction of caste, creed or religion. The Society has set up an academy in the heart of Calicut city comprising of a Post Graduate Study Centre offering M.A. degree courses in English, Malayalam, History and Economics. It has also established an Industrial Training Centre affiliated to NCVT and this ITC has the distinction of achieving cent percent First class results during the last several years. A Junior Primary School, (English Medium) is also functioning under the management of the society in our own premises at Cherooty Nagar Complex. Besides cultural programmes, discourses on various interesting subjects are also being conducted at the Academy of regular intervals. The Society has already acquired 10.68 Acres of land near Kunnamangalam, a suburb about 18kms. This beautiful piece of land is named Guru Narayana Giri. Out of 10.68 acres of land 4.65 acres was gifted to the society by the children and other family members of late Sri. Choyi and the remaining 6.03 acres was bought by the society. The whole area is being developed into Sree Narayana Educational Complex with various Educational Institutions, within a few years time. As a first step in this ambitious programme we have already constructed a block of 10 class rooms to accommodate classes from LKG to Vth std. in our K.P. Choyi Memorial Sree Narayana Vidyalayam. Within a few years of time all classes up to XII std. will be functioning there at, with CBSE syllabus, and the whole school complex will be fully operational. We have elaborate plans to develop the remaining portion of this vast land with various Educational Institutions functioning there and it is our aim to make each and every Educational Institution a Centre of excellence. In pursuance of its long tradition of Service, the Society has acquired recently 27 cents of land together with a building, adjacent to the Academy premises. The Society intend to extend the area of operation to a few job oriented courses there during this year. It is a matter of great joy and happiness to note that the Society has achieved success and considerable progress in all their activities during the last 22 years of its existence. This was possible only due to the unstinted co-operation and whole hearted support extended by its Members and such co-operation and support will continue for years to come. The Governing Body of the Society meet on Third Thursday of every month without fail and all decisions, on the recommendations received from our various sub-committees, are being made at these meetings. The Conveners of all sub committees, Presidents and the Secretaries of the “Junior Forum” and the “Ladies Wing” are also being nominated as members of the Governing Body. It should be mentioned with pleasure that members of the “Junior Forum” are playing a vital constructive role in all our projects, programmes and activities.
