Athmachaithanya Public Charitable TRUST exists specially for Charity works among the poor and eligible people especially old aged people who are being discarded by their own children, orphans and widows. Through Athmachaithanya Public Charitable Trust we serve the community in following ways
1) We provide shelter to the old aged people by running an old age home named Athmachaithanya Aswasabhavan
2) We provide medical care especially for terminal diseases like Cancer, Kidney Failure etc. About Aswasabhavan
We began Athmachaithanya Aswasabhavan as per the divine guidance as a center of comfort to those people who are in distress especially the people of old age both gents and ladies. We take care parents who are being discarded by their own children, orphans and widows and people who were being rejected from their own homes. We treat them with dignity and love of God and we do this without charging any remuneration from them and they could stay at Aswasabhavan lifelong. We provide free lodging and food facilities for Poor people those who are coming to Kottayam medical college incapable of paying high room rent of lodges available in the hospital premises. Presently we have taken one building for rent near Kottayam medical college and we protect 25 old aged people who are abandoned by their own families. Some of those inhabitants have serious terminal diseases like cancer, some of them are bedridden and so on. We have ten voluntary workers who actively being part of Athmachaithanya Aswasabhavan to take care of the inhabitants of it and for its smooth functioning. Our present Aswasabhavan lacks sufficient space for our inhabitants and we are unable to extend or expand the current buildings we have taken as they are rented ones. We see lot of destitute and Orphans every day at Kottayam Medical college and also being informed by the Hospital authorities about the same. But many times we had been forced to strand them, as we don’t have any more space to accommodate them, though we have a genuine heart to take them to be a part of Aswasabhavan. Currently we do struggle in this matter very severely and we struggle in paying the monthly rent also. We need a permanent settlement for habituating these poor elderly people If God’s willing we have a great desire to open an orphanage to the Children as well in the future.
