Did you know that Pingu also helps me with fostering baby animals? Together we've raised pups, kittens and birds over the years.
My heart breaks for the dogs that has to grow up in cold small cages of a shelter, yet there is no other way to keep them safe.

This birthday, I took Pingu to my birthday dinner and kept thinking about my rescues - who gets excited at (bare minimum) sight of food as if they weren't expecting to be fed? They deserve so much more.

I know you and me cannot adopt a hundred dogs BUT the least we can do is add joy to their shelter lives by sharing privilege.
Not for our thirty rescues but for all of them who will come our way for rehabilitation and hospice.

OLD PIRATE IS HEALING❤️

When we rescued Pirate, he had maggots in his head and was getting beaten by wooden sticks for smelling bad. Caregivers tried helping but his condition was too severe - honestly, we didn't know if he would even survive the night.

He did survive, and he is still fighting very bravely. His maggots were removed and by day two of rescue, pain reduced greatly. His face wasn't bleeding anymore, we could see fresh flesh growth.
Tomorrow, as of day eight, all his wounds are healing and tests show great recovery.

Additionally, Pirate is letting us touch his head and face. He isn't scared anymore, and howls every evening as he wishes to go on a walk. We are hoping for a complete recovery and lifelong hospice care once he's discharged.

He might be old but that doesn't mean he should be euthanised, simply when he can get better. I pity the people who think he is disposable and asked us put him down.

Kinda chic to love animals with all your heart❤️

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a social worker and build a place for elderly and discarded animals. As a child, I was deeply protected from horrors of humanity and did not know that animal abuse exists.

Starting this charity has shown me both kindness and pain, but never hatred. There is nothing more forgiving than the love of an animal - it's unconditional.
I always wanted to do more, I still do.

Construction has been very scary but we are almost at the end of Phase One, can you believe it? We are not a big town charity and don't have corporate donors, but none of that matters to our rescues.
All that matters is treatos, which we have plenty of!🫶🏻

CHOOSE YOUR RESCUE💙🥹

With bills now paid, we have been extending help and building infrastructure for quality care of our rescues. Just finding FOUR sponsors can make a massive difference for our rescues and caregivers.

🐴 Molly needs a one time donation for shed. It will protect her, the goats and her caregivers from rainfall.
🐮 Champak needs a sponsor for this month and next, as he'd need cow milk atleast till he turns 3 months old.
🐶 Moon would benefit from a forever sponsor for her rainbow months, she's sixteen and in medical hospice.
👨‍👩‍👦 Caregivers would also benefit with monthly supplies, it isn't mandatory but if we can help, then why not.

Today marks the 80th Independence Day of India🇮🇳

Government has several schemes to help the rural families but more than often, corruption engulfs it all. This little boy is named Dhanyo (meaning coriander) and his father has massive debt to pay, loans he took to nurture his daughters.

Birth control measures and bonded labour laws can only reach the educated, thus the uneducated drowns himself into a failing society that only seeks benefit.
Dhanyo's father earns ₹1500 ($16) a month and rest of his salary goes towards paying the lender.

He works 16 hours as a cattle caregiver, his wife finds occasional work as she has to care and cook for the child. They love our rescues with all their might.
I believe that freedom can only be experienced when your stomach is full and family protected under a roof.

It will take years to bring a prominent change but today, today we can help them eat at the very least. They also needed a Tin Shed but it's only possible with the help of a sponsor, however these groceries-

Today marks the 80th Independence Day of India🇮🇳

Kinda chic to be overwhelmed all the time?🥹💙

Sometimes when I look through my gallery, I cannot believe the difference we make for the animals of our town. The dog who used to be skin and bones now thrives in London? Or the two day old baby bull who couldn't stand now runs faster than us? I could have never imagined that.

The stories are countless and endless. So, here is my share at things that touch my heart, either with love or grief - I'd let you decide.
We often overlook the impact that we make, but your one kind effort often ends up saving someone's life.

CHEETOS NEEDS YOUR HELP🧡

This little cocker spaniel boy was thrown on streets as he became too close to death. He was then picked up by another family who caged him in store room, and surrendered him after a month of neglect.
It's a miracle that he's still alive.

Cheeto is fighting seven ailments at once, and on top of that, he weighs just 5kgs. He was admitted one week back and has made significant progress.
Initially he could not digest things and was put on IV fluids but now he's able to eat slowly.

We need your help to deposit funds in order to continue his treatment. His medications and checkups will continue for next three months.
Cheetos need atleast two weeks in the hospital CCU to be stable enough to survive, donate what you can?

Somedays, I wish I'd never entered animal welfare and had settled for an easier life.
But then Mission Paws was born from my grief, without it, that grief would have claimed me long ago.

It is a privilege to be around animals who love you to the extent of sacrifice, just because you helped them once, years ago.
This kind of love cannot be told but only experienced.

When two days back this little dog was reported to us, he looked moments away from death with a grotesquely swollen head. I couldn't refuse, got him admitted - today he kept wagging his tail.
This is the difference you make.

We raised $600 and paid bills partly.
Just 40K ($400) more will help us pay salaries of caregivers who bathe, feed, medicate, comfort and play with rescues every single day.

If you run a company, or know someone who does, you can support construction of our shelter through CSR and get a name engraved.
We need 1.3 lakh ($1300) to clear urgent dues.

I might have to shut down our seven year old charity due to lack of support,
BUT I'm going to use all of my strength to keep it running - even if that means bugging you with multiple appeals.

This is the only active charity of our city, the only one with a hospice and rehabilitation unit. Do what you can, and be fierce with it.
The animals need us, but if I'm being honest, we need them even more.

You wouldn't believe me if I'd tell you how difficult it is to run an animal welfare charity alone, in a small silent town that people doesn't even know about.

Most days I wonder why I started Mission Paws and whether it is worth all the desperation? It's not that I ever planned to open a charity but as nobody helped, I had to do something or I'd have lost my conscience.

At this point, I have tried everything that I could but my posts aren't reaching many people and the ones connected already have stopped replying.
I don't blame them, or you.

Animal welfare is a draining field, if I could, I would never see videos of a bleeding animal myself. Unfortunately, I don't have that choice.
So while I was at it, I kept the hospital bills paid.

When we purchased the land and received CSR, I believed we'd never have to worry about funds again. We are a small charity and need only so little to survive. I was wrong to believe.

As of today, we don't have sufficient to pay salaries of caregivers or to clear dues of food vendors. We couldn't pay for the electricity or water connection at the shelter, and construction has again stopped.

The only way out of this is to raise funds.
We are nearly 1 lakh ($1000) short to pay salaries, afford food and treatment of our resident rescues.
We need nearly 1.5 lakh ($1500) to clear construction dues, as we installed electricity and water connection.

We can survive if we paid these bills but to run an active animal welfare charity, consistent support is a must. So unless we find monthly or CSR donors, we will always end up at a point of exhaustion.

Can we save Mission Paws? Honestly, I don't know.
