Our children have come from some of life’s hardest places, but they still dream!.

They have known loss, uncertainty, neglect, and circumstances no child should ever have to face. But their past does not have to define their future.

Because when you ask them what they want to be when they grow up, they have big dreams!

They dream of becoming doctors, teachers, athletes, engineers, artists, pilots, and so much more. They dream of building a life filled with purpose, dignity, and possibility.

Every child deserves more than a safe place to grow. They deserve the opportunity to discover what they are capable of becoming.

At Alex Agape Foundation, we care for them, educate them, encourage them, and give them the foundation they need to turn dreams that once seemed impossible into possibilities for their future. But we cannot do it alone. We need support from our community.

Their beginnings may have been difficult.
But their futures can be full of hope.

🚒🔥 Learning Beyond the Classroom! 🔥🚒

At the learning center in our Children's Home, we're learning about the important jobs of people in our community, with a special focus on our everyday heroes who help keep us safe.
On Friday, our children had an exciting educational visit to the Kaddapakkada Fire Station in Kollam! 🚒

The firefighters warmly welcomed our students and taught them about:

👨‍🚒 The important role of a firefighter
🔥 Fire safety tips and what to do in an emergency
🚒 The equipment used to save lives and protect our community

The children were thrilled to climb inside the fire trucks, explore the equipment, and even watch the powerful fire hose in action! It was an unforgettable hands-on learning experience that helped them better understand the courage, dedication, and service of our local firefighters.

A heartfelt thank you to the officers and staff at the Kaddapakkada Fire Station for taking the time to educate and inspire our children. Your kindness and commitment made this a day they will always remember! ❤️

We believe that the best learning happens when children can see, experience, and ask questions. Experiences like these help our students connect classroom lessons with the real world around them.

I believe that everyone should have at least one person who won't give up on them.

I'm human. You're human. We've all had moments we're not proud of. We've made mistakes. We've failed. And we have all made choices that have hurt ourselves or others.

Now ask yourself this:

Did you have someone who refused to give up on you?
Someone who saw beyond your worst decisions?
Someone who believed you could grow?
Someone who loved you enough to correct you, forgive you, and keep showing up?

Many children don't have that. For children growing up in families and for children in orphanages, the need is the same: they need at least one adult who says, "I'm not leaving. I'm not giving up on you. We'll get through this together!"

Sometimes a child's difficult behavior is a cry for help and not a declaration that they are beyond hope. Do children need boundaries? Yes. But they also need grace. They need accountability, and they need unwavering love.

Some children have been so hurt and disappointed that they expect everyone to give up. But a life can be changed when a child has just one person who stays. Who says "you are more than your mistakes and I'm not giving up on you!"

🦷 A Week of Blessings Continues! 💙

This week, the children at Alex Agape Home were blessed with a second free medical camp—this time dedicated to dental health.

Our heartfelt thanks to Travancore Dental College, Dr. Jaya Krishna, Dr. Nikitha, and the wonderful team of dental students who generously volunteered their time, skills, and compassion to care for our children.

Many children who come to Alex Agape Home have lived through years of neglect before finding safety and love. As a result, many suffer from untreated cavities, dental pain, and other oral health challenges. Thanks to this camp, every child received a comprehensive dental examination at no cost.

While some children simply need better oral hygiene and regular follow-up care, several require urgent treatment. For children with special needs—including those who are blind, have autism, or live with cerebral palsy—dental procedures are often more complex and may need to be performed under anesthesia.

Together with the dental team, we have begun planning the next steps. Now, we need your support.

⭐Help Give a Child the Gift of Clear Vision👓
On Saturday, our children were blessed with a comprehensive Eye Care Camp conducted by Dr Shobha Sara Mathew and a team of doctors and staff of Chaithanya Eye Hospital & Research Institute.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Shoba and the entire Chaithanya team for generously giving your time, expertise, and compassion to ensure every child received a thorough eye examination!

We are also deeply grateful to Child Welfare Committee Member, Smt. Asha Das, and our Panchayat President, Smt. Sherly Sathyadevan, for taking the time to visit our children. Your presence, kind words, and encouragement reminded them that they are seen, valued, and supported by their community.

Ten children were identified as needing further evaluation for corrective eyewear. We are thankful these concerns were detected early, because something as simple as clear vision can have a tremendous impact on a child's education, confidence, and future. Every child deserves the opportunity to see the world clearly, read without difficulty, and learn to their fullest potential.

It truly takes a community to help children thrive, and today was a beautiful example of what can happen when healthcare professionals, government leaders, and caring individuals come together for the well-being of children.

⚽ We have Football Fever! ⚽

With the excitement of the World Cup, our children have suddenly become football fans. The children were gifted Jerseys from local college students. They talk about their favorite players—Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappé, etc..

Yesterday they even organized their own Boys vs. Girls football match. It was full of laughter, determination, and excitement... until one powerful kick sent the ball onto the neighbor's roof! 😂

Watching them play and hearing them talk about their favorite players, reminded me of something important. Children need heroes. They need people they can look up to who show them that talent grows through HARD WORK, DISCIPLINE, PERSEVERANCE, and CHARACTER. Many of the world's greatest athletes came from humble beginnings, overcame incredible hardships, and refused to give up on their dreams. Those are stories that give hope to children like mine. They help them believe that their circumstances do not have to determine their future.

One of my dreams is for our children to spend time with athletes who have walked that journey—people who would be willing to visit, share their story, answer questions, and encourage them to dream big!
