Snehatheeram Home for mentally challenged women from street. At present we have 300 inmates. Roselin Chirayil. It is a home for mentally challenged destitute women.

ABOUT THE SNEHATHEERAM AT A GLANCE
Snehatheeram charitable society started its functioning in 26 September 2002 in vilakudy, kollam dist by Sr. At present we have 182 inmates. Our Organization registered under The Travancore Cochin Literary, Scientific &Charitable Societies Registration Act of 1955 (Act. XII of 1955). We are having Certificate of Recognition from Board of Control for Orphanages an

d Other Charitable Homes Kerala, Persons with Disability Act. It also got the registration of psycho-social rehabilitation centre and the mental health centre. At present, we have 300 female inmates; most of them are chronic mentally ill patients on continuous treatment. Most of them have physical illness also. It is very difficult us to bring them to hospital. Through psychiatric rehabilitation centre we aim the restoration of the fullest physical, mental, social, vocational training to the inmates. We provide prayer therapy, soap making, vegetable garden, tailoring unit, news paper reading, exercise, cultural programmes, medical camps, health awareness classes, recreation trips, Psychiatric counseling , important days oberservation which also includes the b’day celebration of the inmates. The treatment were given to these inmates from the Mental Health Centre, Trivandrum, PHC, vilakudy, Homeo hospital, Ayurveda hospital, etc……
Snehatheeram had a well trained band troupe with 25 inmates. We went to several programmes which includes temples, churches. The institution was runned by the public support or the like-minded people irrespect of caste, creed and religion

ആ അമ്മയെ തേടി ഭൂമിയിലെ മാലാഖ എത്തി.... കുന്നിക്കോട് ഇന്നലെ മുതൽ അലഞ്ഞു തിരിഞ്ഞു നടന്ന അമ്മയെ നാട്ടുകാരും പൊതു പ്രവർത്തകരും കൂടി ബന്ധുക്കളെ കണ്ടെത്തി സുരക്ഷ ഉറപ്പ് ആക്കിയപ്പോൾ, ഈ അമ്മയ്ക്ക് വീട്ടിൽ പോകേണ്ട എന്ന അഭിപ്രായത്തിൽ ആയിരുന്നു ആകെ ഒരു മകൻ മാത്രമാണ് വീട്ടിൽ ഉള്ളത്
മാനസികമായി പ്രശ്നം നേരിടുന്ന ഈ അമ്മയെ സ്നേഹതീരത്തെ അമ്മ നിയമനടപടികൾക്ക് ശേഷം ഏറ്റെടുക്കും

കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ മറ്റു സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ ഈ അമ്മ ഒറ്റയ്ക്കു കറങ്ങി നടക്കുന്നത് കണ്ട് ആളുകൾ പോലീസിൽ വിവരം നൽകിയിരുന്നു....മേലിലയിൽ ആണ് ഈ അമ്മ താമസിക്കുന്നത്,! തെരുവ് നായ്ക്കളുടെ കേന്ദ്രമായ നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടിൽ രാത്രിയിൽ കറങ്ങി നടക്കുന്നത് വലിയൊരു അപകടം ഉണ്ടാകാൻ സാധ്യതയാണ്, ഈ അമ്മയെ സുരക്ഷിതമാകാൻ പരിശ്രമിച്ച പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടവർക്ക് നന്ദി ❤️

200 ഓളം അമ്മമാർ ഉള്ള നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടിലെ സ്നേഹ തീരത്തെ അമ്മയാണ് ഇപ്പോൾ ഈ അമ്മയെ പുതു ജീവിതത്തിലേക്ക് കൈപിടിച്ച് കയറ്റാൻ എത്തിയത് 🙏🏻

സ്നേഹതീരം കുടുംബാംഗം തിരുവനന്തപുരം പാറശാല തോട്ടുപുരം വലവിളത്തിവിള വീട്ടിൽ സരസ (65) അന്തരിച്ചു. 2006 ജൂലൈ 18 ന് മറ്റാരും ഏറ്റെടുക്കാനില്ലാത്തതിനാൽ തിരുവനന്തപുരം സർക്കാർ മാനസികാരോഗ്യ കേന്ദ്രത്തിൽ നിന്നും തുടർ സംരക്ഷണത്തിനും ചികിത്സയ്ക്കുമായി സ്നേഹതീരത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചതാണ്.
മൃതദേഹം പുനലൂർ താലൂക്ക് ആശുപത്രി മോർച്ചറിയിൽ സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
