Some exhibitions are about shopping. RIMJHIM – The Monsoon Edit was about discovering the people behind the products.

Beautifully curated by Amrita & Madhubanti of The Event Runner, this cozy showcase at Utsav Marriage Hall, Deshapriya Park brought together 18 thoughtfully curated brands offering everything from delicious food and beverages to sarees, boutique fashion, handcrafted jewellery, home décor and quirky lifestyle products.

What made the experience memorable were the stories.

✨ JhumJhum Couture is driven by two sisters—one an AI Content Creator with Amazon in Bengaluru, the other a biotechnologist—who continue to build their fashion label with unwavering passion.

✨ Aaloka creates stunning handcrafted neckpieces using Tibetan pendants, each piece carrying an unmistakable artistic signature.

✨ Rajeshree is redefining its 30-year-old wholesale legacy by reaching a new generation of boutique shoppers.

✨ And Alfaz proved that affordable accessories with lasting quality can easily become crowd favourites.

More than the products, I loved the conversations. Every stall reflected courage, creativity and the determination to build something meaningful.

Perhaps that's the biggest takeaway—Kolkata's buyers are evolving. They are appreciating originality, supporting homegrown entrepreneurs and valuing craftsmanship over mass-produced choices.

Here's wishing The Event Runner many more successful editions. The city certainly needs more spaces where stories and small businesses grow together.
