One dot. Many voices. Shared dignity.

As we close the Red Dot campaign this Menstrual Hygiene Day, we look back at a day that brought together 411 participants across 4 sessions in Sunderban and Baruipur through Kusum Katha. What stood out was the collective effort — our Loksakha Welfare Society team showing up on the ground and in solidarity through the Red Dot, communities coming together for awareness sessions, distribution of sanitary napkins and nutritious food, and even stepping out into public spaces through a 2 km rally in Kalidaspur.

At the centre of it all were the voices from the community. When invited to share their needs and commitments, participants spoke clearly — asking for access to pads, clean toilets, safe disposal, and stronger school support, while also committing to break silence, speak openly, and support one another without shame. These voices tell us that change is already underway — and what is needed now is for systems to match that momentum.

A heartfelt thank you to our Loksakha Welfare Society team, partners, frontline workers, and every participant who engaged with such openness and conviction. This campaign may conclude, but every red dot and every written promise moves us forward.

What does a period‑friendly world look like — from the perspective of communities themselves?

On Menstrual Hygiene Day, through our Red Dot campaign under Kusum Katha, Loksakha Welfare Society created a simple space:
participants could write what they need and what they are willing to change.

Across 4 sessions and 411 participants, what emerged was powerful.

🔹 What participants asked for:

Free or affordable access to pads
Clean toilets and safe disposal systems
Better support in schools during menstruation
🔹 What participants are committed to:

“I will not feel ashamed”
“I will speak openly”
“I will support girls during menstruation”
And that is where the real insight lies.

👉 Communities are ready.
👉 The silence is breaking.
👉 People want to change.

But they are also clearly saying:
systems need to support that change.

Through Kusum Katha, we are learning that
menstrual dignity is not just about awareness —
it is about access, infrastructure, and collective responsibility.

Every red dot placed, every line written,
brings us one step closer to a world where
no girl feels shame or stops living her life.

One Red dot. Many voices. Shared dignity.

On World Menstrual Hygiene Day -May 28, Loksakha Welfare Society, through its flagship initiative Kusum Katha, came together with communities across locations to celebrate, reflect, and commit.

From Sunderban 1 (Satjelia Sukumari) to Krishnamohan (Baruipur) and Sunderban 2 (Kalidaspur), over 380+ girls and women, along with community members, participated with energy and hope.

With the presence of local representatives, ASHA workers, and community leaders, the message was clear —
menstrual dignity is everyone’s responsibility.

Participants placed their Red Dot, wrote their promises and demands, and in Kalidaspur, even walked together in a 2 km rally — making dignity visible in their own communities.

Sanitary napkins and healthy refreshments were distributed to support both immediate needs and long‑term wellbeing.

Today was not just a celebration.
It was a collective commitment.

Behind every number is a story.

Through Kusum Katha, Loksakha Welfare Society has reached over 17,000 beneficiaries —
creating spaces where conversations begin and stigma starts to end.

As Menstrual Hygiene Day approaches, we reaffirm: No girl should miss out because of her period.

A period‑friendly world is not built in a day.
It is built together — at home, in schools, and in our communities.

Through Kusum Katha, our flagship menstrual health initiative, we at Loksakha Welfare Society work
towards ensuring dignity and awareness for all.

This Menstrual Hygiene Day, we introduce the Red Dot —
a symbol of dignity, visibility, and shared responsibility.

Celebrating Rabindra Jayanti with Our Children 🌸

Yesterday at Loksakha Welfare Society, we marked the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, with a heartfelt cultural programme led by our children.

Through songs, recitations, simple reflections, and conversations, our children explored Tagore’s timeless teachings—of freedom, humanity, respect for nature, and the joy of learning. In ways true to childhood, they reminded us that education is not just about instruction, but about awakening curiosity, compassion, and self-expression.

We ended the celebration the way every meaningful learning moment should—with a shared, joyful meal, laughter, and togetherness.

Days like today reaffirm what we believe at LWS:
- Learning is deepest when it is lived
- Culture and values belong in early childhood
- Every child deserves moments of beauty, dignity, and joy

With gratitude to our children, teachers, and community for making this celebration so special.

Eid Mubarak & Happy International Day of Happiness to our Loksakha family! 🌙💛

As our children, mothers, and community members came together this week to celebrate Eid —
learning its traditions, sharing food, creating beautiful crafts, and spending time with one another —
we were reminded of a simple truth:

Happiness grows where togetherness lives.

Today is also the International Day of Happiness, a day that highlights well‑being, unity, and the
power of human connection. The spirit of this day was naturally woven into our Eid celebrations — in
every shared smile, every helping hand, and every joyful moment between children and families.

At Kisholoy, we want our children to not only learn, but also feel the meaning of our festivals:
compassion, belonging, and the joy of being part of a caring community.

After Holi and Eid, we look
forward to many more celebrations that bring us together and help our children grow with confidence
and love.

May happiness, unity, and hope continue to guide our work and brighten the lives of every
child we serve. 💛

Celebrating International Day of Education with Loksakha Welfare Society
Today, we celebrate the power of education! The International Day of Education, observed every
year on January 24, highlights the critical role education plays in fostering global peace and
sustainable development.
At Loksakha Welfare Society, we believe that early childhood education is the foundation for a
brighter future for all, children and communities alike.
Recently, we held our Annual Day, a joyous occasion filled with pride and excitement. We bid
farewell to our graduating pre-schoolers and welcomed a new batch of eager learners. The
children showcased their talents through delightful performances, and their achievements
throughout the academic year were celebrated with enthusiasm. We were honored to have
esteemed guests, including veteran educators from local and city schools, join us for this special
occasion.
Adding a special touch, our mothers turned entrepreneurs by setting up stalls at the
Anandamela, serving delicious treats that were enjoyed by all.
We are committed to providing quality education, nurturing a love for learning, and empowering
every child to reach their full potential.
