🌊🎨 From the Côte d’Azur to Goppo Bari, Kolkata
Our latest Goppo Bari Adda transported us to the French Riviera, as visual artist and writer Subrata Ghosh took us through the extraordinary creative world of the Côte d’Azur and the luminaries drawn to its legendary light—from Chagall, Jean Cocteau and Picasso to Pierre Cardin and Gauguin.
And what is a Goppo Bari adda without an eclectic gathering of its own? ❤️ Filmmaker Sekhar Das, Amsterdam-based artist Femke, currently working on a Kolkata Puja pandal, joined artists, publishers, teachers and friends for an evening where art effortlessly gave way to goppo.
🍷 Wine flowed, conversations sparkled. Delicious pistou pasta and cake by added just the right Mediterranean flavour.🍷🍝
Some guests went home with Subrata’s Bengali book, Bhumadhyo Sagarer Alo, Sonali Lahiri already owns a Ganesh painting by the artist!
That, perhaps, is what we enjoy most about these evenings, they all have a touch of je ne sais quoi…

These are some of the ideas behind Goppo Bari—a space that brings together social impact, creativity, culture and conscious living.
This Wednesday, join us to discover Lonavala saris, specially curated by Paramita Biswas, along with some Maharashtran snacks and spices on sale. Let BuneBona and Mukherjee Sw****ka show you the many ways a sari or scarf can be draped.
Bring along your preloved saris to swap, sell, donate or simply give them another life through our growing Sari Library, Swap & Thrift Rack.
