On 22nd February 2026, DVC & DVC EA marked its presence at the 14th National Seminar organized by the Engineers' Welfare Forum (WBPDCL) in collaboration with National Energy Excellence Drive (NEED).

Theme: Application of AI in Healthcare and Power System.

Technical Presentation:

Shri S. K. Chorodia, Sr. Manager (E) along with Shri Rahul Ranjan, Manager (E) and Shri Atish Anand, Manager (E) presented a paper on "Use of AI in Circuit Breakers."

The seminar served as a valuable platform for exchanging ideas and highlighting DVC’s initiatives in emerging AI technologies.

DVC Engineers’ Association Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) Concluded at Maithon Station Club

The Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of the DVC Engineers’ Association was successfully held on 1st February 2026 at Maithon Station Club. A large number of engineers from various power plants and sub-stations of the Valley Region participated in the meeting, clearly reflecting the unity and active involvement of the engineering community.

During the AGM, a detailed report of the activities and achievements of the DVC Engineers’ Association over the past year was presented. Deliberations were also held on future plans and strategies to further strengthen the organization and to effectively address professional issues concerning engineers.

Shri Sandeep Kumar, General Secretary (Central Council), was also present on the occasion. He provided a comprehensive overview of the major activities undertaken by the Association during the past year and outlined the future action plan. He emphasized the need to strengthen the organization through an active membership drive and advised Branch Councils to maintain constructive dialogue with their respective units and higher management to ensure effective resolution of local issues and concerns related to engineers.
Office bearers from various stations of the Valley Region attended the meeting and expressed their collective commitment toward achieving the objectives of the Association.

The proceedings of the meeting were conducted by Shri Bharat (Secretary, MTPS Branch Council) and was chaired by Shri Sudhanshu, Joint Secretary (Central Council).

In addition, Shri Aamir Hussain, Shri Neeraj, Shri Prabhat Kumar, Shri Amit Kumar, Shri Manoj Ambedkar, Shri Manoj Sarkar, Shri Bimal Hansda, Shri Navin Kumar, and other members from across the Valley were also present at the meeting.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Satyendra Kumar Sahoo, Secretary, Maithon Branch Council, who expressed gratitude to all participants for their active cooperation and participation.

Over the past year, together we have revived and strengthened the activities of our Association. On 16th February last year, we successfully conducted the AGM at MTPS — a proud and defining moment for all of us.

Now, once again, the time has come for reflection, review, and collective introspection.

This year brought achievements, challenges, learning, and growth. Through unity and commitment, we kept moving forward. And we have seen clearly — when we stand united, our voice reaches even the highest authority.

Now is the time to make that voice stronger.

Let us come together to:

✔ Discuss the future path of DVC
✔ Deliberate on the legitimate demands and concerns of engineers
✔ Strengthen our collective voice

With deep sorrow, we inform the passing of Shri V. N. Mishra, Ex-Additional Director (HR), DVC, a news that has just come to our notice.

Shri Mishra was known for his dedication, dynamic personality, and humane approach. His significant contributions to the organization and the lives he touched will always be remembered with respect.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may the Almighty give strength and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
