F.E.T.S.U. GB MEETING RESOLUTION (23/09/2026)

1)We will conduct a Mass Convention on the Teachers Transfer Bill inviting the professors.(Date-30th September,Venue-Will be decided later).

2) We are calling for All faculty GB on this Friday or Next Monday where we will discuss the further steps that can be taken on the Teacher's Transfer Bill and if the other faculty member will join this Mass Convention or not.

3)Proper Class Campaign regarding the Convention will be done before the Convention

4)A leaflet or invitation card will be given to the professors for the Convention.

5) During the Class Campaign for the Convention, signature campaign will be done as the solidarity for the Mass tranfer bill.

6) F.E.T.S.U. condemns the notice regarding CCTV installation in the Grafitti Hotspots which is an attack on the democracy of the student activities. So a deputation will be given to the Registrar regarding this situation on Monday(28/09/2026).

7)After 2nd phase of DC, 300+ seats is vacant. So a deputation will be given to Authority demanding offline Decentralised Councelling.

On September 10, the 'Universities and Colleges (Administration & Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026' was passed in the State Assembly. Through this bill, the state government has gained absolute power to forcibly transfer teachers anywhere in the state without their consent. As a result, not only will the professors suffer, but students' internships, placements, and research work will also be severely affected, pushing their academic future into deep uncertainty.

While this bill was being discussed in the Assembly, Jadavpur University was specifically targeted. This transfer policy is not just about shifting a professor from one university to another. It uses the state machinery to transform universities into BJP-RSS ideological institutions and to crush dissent and independent thinking.

To make the general students aware of the harmful aspects of this bill and to build a strong resistance against it, F.E.T.S.U. organized extensive class campaigns, leafleting, and badging on Monday (14/09) and Tuesday (15/09).

F.E.T.S.U. strongly condemns this arbitrary and unjust Transfer Bill and demands its immediate and unconditional withdrawal.

F.E.T.S.U. calls upon all students, teachers, workers, and democratic forces to unite and build a powerful mass movement against this attack on Education System.

From labelling us as Dimagi Naxals to attacking the democratic spirit of our campus, is not something on which we, as students of this esteemed university, will keep shut, this time as well. We request each and everyone to put up your brushes and colours and shoot every FASCIST with your COLORS and BRUSHES. 14th, 15th September on Jadavpur Campus and on 16th and 17th September on Salt Lake Campus.

Fill every wall.
Fill every street.
Fill this campus with your thoughts, your questions, your anger, and your dreams.

They don't want you to THINK.
Maybe they don't know one simple thing:
They can stop one.
But they can't stop a hundred flowers from blooming.

It has come to our attention that the F.E.T. Students' Union room was vandalised today by some outsiders as well as certain students of University, allegedly associated with a particular organisation like NSF - Nationalist Students Front. They wrote vulgar and offensive languages on the walls and paintings on various walls and belongings within the Union room.

F.E.T.S.U. has always stood for the principles of democracy, freedom of expression, and the right of every student to participate in the academic and democratic life of the campus. We believe that every wall and every space of the Union room and the campus belongs, in a democratic sense, to its students. However, the deliberate occupation and defacement of these spaces through vandalism is not an expression of democracy, it is an attempt to undermine the very principles of the democratic coexistence that our campus should uphold. Differences in opinion must never become a justification for damaging common spaces or creating an atmosphere of intimidation and insecurity on campus.

F.E.T.S.U. strongly condemns this act of vandalism and hooliganism. F.E.T. Students' Union Room has always stood for inclusivity and for years, it has provided such a place where students can freely think, exchange ideas, study, play and can rightly raise their voices against any kind of injustices in the campus sphere, whenever required.

Stand against hooliganism and vandalism. Stand for democracy.
The people united shall always be victorious.
