On Menstrual Health & Hygiene Day, let us come together to break the silence, end stigma, and ensure dignity for every girl and woman.
At Kankura Masat Social Welfare Society (KMSWS), we believe that menstruation is natural — and every girl deserves awareness, hygiene, safety, and dignity during her menstrual cycle.
Through our ongoing Menstrual Health & Hygiene initiative, KMSWS is actively conducting awareness sessions and distributing sanitary napkins in rural and vulnerable communities. Our target is to distribute 21,000 sanitary pads to support adolescent girls and women with safe menstrual practices and improved health.

Every girl deserves:
Proper menstrual health education
Access to safe sanitary products
Freedom from stigma and discrimination
Confidence to attend school and pursue her dreams

A day filled with joy, excitement, and unforgettable memories!

Last Sunday, around 70 rural students and volunteers from the Sundarban and Diamond Harbour areas got a wonderful opportunity to watch the IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals live at the iconic Eden Gardens.

For many of these children, it was their very first time visiting such a historic stadium and experiencing the electrifying atmosphere of a live cricket match. The smiles, cheers, and happiness on their faces made the day truly special.

Kankura Masat Social Welfare Society (KMSWS) sincerely thanks Green Entertainment Production Pvt. Ltd. for generously providing the tickets completely free of cost and making this beautiful experience possible for our students.

Such initiatives inspire young minds, create exposure beyond classrooms, and bring moments of joy that remain lifelong memories.

Strengthening Impact Through Donor Partnership
KMSWS was honoured to host an impact assessment visit at Tiyas School by alumni members of Jadavpur University (Computer Science Batch 2000), Mr. Dwaipayan Kar Choudhary and Mrs. Sanghamitra Chatterjee.
Their continued financial support has made it possible for us to engage two special English teachers, helping rural children build confidence in English and spoken communication skills.
During the visit, they interacted with students, engaged with teachers to understand challenges, and reviewed the progress of the initiative they support. They also visited our vocational training plans, agriculture field, and women empowerment programmes — gaining a broader understanding of our work.
We deeply appreciate their trust, involvement, and commitment to creating meaningful change.

We were honored to welcome the team from Impact 360 Degree—Payel (Ex-Fundraiser), Kajal Kumar Nandy, and their colleague—to our communities in South 24 Parganas. Their visit was not just a field interaction; it was a meaningful dialogue to understand the real challenges, opportunities, and future pathways of fundraising through marathon running.

This journey is special for us.
This year, KMSWS achieved its first milestone in marathon-based fundraising through the TATA Steel Marathon, guided and supported by Impact 360 Degree. What once felt like an idea is now a growing movement of hope.

“Didi, now I don’t feel weak when I run…” – Nisha Pramanik
This one sentence says it all.
Nisha, a young girl from South 24 Parganas, once struggled with hunger and uncertainty. Today, she is one of the rising stars of KMSWS’s Women Sports Program, training in football and athletics with a dream—to secure a government job and support her family.
Thanks to the nutrition support from Feeding India (a Zomato initiative), Nisha and many girls like her now have the strength to train, learn, and grow.
Every meal is not just food—it is energy, confidence, and hope.
But there are many more Nishas waiting for this chance.

A day filled with smiles, stories, and solidarity

KMSWS recently participated in a CSR activity at Accenture Kolkata, where our women’s groups showcased their handmade eco-friendly products.
What touched our hearts the most was the genuine interest shown by Accenture employees. They didn’t just visit the stall—they listened. They heard the stories of rural women who are working hard every day to support their families and build a better future.
Each product sold carried a story of courage and determination.

Learning never stops at KMSWS

We are happy to share that Sajal da and Madhumita di recently participated in a 3-day residential workshop on fundraising and resource mobilisation in Kolkata.

From understanding donors to building meaningful relationships and using digital tools for fundraising, the workshop was full of practical learning and new ideas.

These learnings will help us serve our children, women, and communities even better.
